It has not been on the Democratic platform for a long, long time. Every single Dem who ran in 2020 raised their hand in support of free healthcare for illegal immigrants. Biden halted all of Trump's wall building projects with an executive order on Day One. It won't hurt you to admit she has zero integrity and likely isn't the one deciding these things. But answer this: if she's ahead, why does she need to move closer to MAGA with her policies? I don't think Kamala has much input at all. They don't let her take questions from the press, they don't let her give interviews, they won't post her policy on her website. All the signs are there of an empty suit.

And it bends down the cost curve, as an ounce of prevention is worth more and more efficient than a pound of cure.

If wasting money on a wall that will, within a year, look like above or worse means more immigration judges and advocates for children, and more money for things like healthcare for immigrants, it's worth the compromise.

 

Kamala's handlers better be careful. If she starts sounding too much like Trump, this will take its toll with her base of support who are so enthusiastic about her right now. In fact, I'd bet this will be a net negative for her, because everyone leaning towards Trump on immigration will see it for what it is and her radical supporters will lose interest if she begins pushing the MAGA agenda. That's why this matters. We all know Kamala is a fraud already, so this doesn't surprise us.

As pointed out Trump has been all over the map on issues over his lifetime. He has been pro choice, he was for a wealth tax. He supported Iraq war then was against it, kind of. He was a Hillary supporter.

Honestly the reasons I don’t like Trump have nothing g to do with a lifetime of flip flopping opinions. It’s 1/3 due to policy issues, and 2/3 due to his character and mental instability.

 

When you bring up Trump, you might as well just say "okee, you beat me again." Donald Trump morphing over the decades as a private citizen is pretty normal. Many people do that, but once you get into public service, you can't go from "read my lips, no new taxes" to the largest tax increase in American history in a span of 5 years, which is what GHWB did and what Kamala is doing here with this. And did liberals vote for Bush in '92? Nah.. he didn't pick up a single damn vote from them, but he did lose the moderate conservative wing of his base big time to Perot and Clinton. That's what will happen to Kamala on this issue, albeit to a much smaller extent. In a game of inches, any extent matters. She's not going to win a single independent or Republican vote with this flip flop. And that is what it boils down to.
