You can insult public officials. You can't insult fellow posters.
I can call Trump an idiot, for example. But I can't call Tilly an idiot. I mean, I may or may not think he's an idiot. But I can't call him one.

No offense,Tilly. I just needed an example.

 

Too Hot reminds me of Mad Magazine's Spy vs Spy, where all they do is try to blow each other up.

 

I'm open minded. I considered whether I should try to understand and emphathize with people who will vote for a racist criminal, or the political party that lies for and defends him.

I decided against it. I decided that people who will further foist that upon our population and nation actually deserve condemnation instead.

But that's just me. Others are comfortable supporting a political party that's nominated a criminal racist. That's them.

 

Harris just now dedicated to fixing the problems she’s presided over for four years.

 

It's crazy. It's like we are supposed to treat a restaurant that serves traditional American fare and a restaurant that serves rusty auto parts and shards of glass to eat the same.

And there are people out there who are like, "I don't know which restaurant I prefer because my burger was medium and not medium rare at the normal menu one. I haven't eaten at the rusty metal/sharp glass one yet, but I'll consider them similar for now."

Trump and his followers have assaulted many, or most, of our norms in both society and politics, as well as in governance. To the point, for just one good example, that they actively lie about fake election fraud and try to criminally overturn an election. But then they turn around and demand the protection of the law, and of the social compacts that they have ignored if not broken.

It's not just hypocrisy, it's parasitic hypocrisy*.

And some say we're supposed to ignore all that and grant them the civility they actively vote against. We're in Bizarro World.
