Compared to Trump, she's a genius.

She was more qualified than Hillary. Hillary was a severe screwup as Sec'y of State, and was a weak Senator who handed out awards to girl scouts as a Senator (and did little else of substance). Hillary had zero executive experience, and she helped make the middle east the disaster it's been the last 15 years. She also was apparently taking bribes with her charity in a pay-for-access scheme. She then used money from her charity to pay off (donate to) democratic super-delegates in a scheme to stack the deck in the democratic nomination.

Harris was light on positive qualifications, but she was both a Senator and Vice President, giving her a minimal amount of executive experience. She did not distinguish herself in either role, but did not commit any crimes, either. Yes, she was selected based on her gender and skin color, and generally pleasant personality. She had nowhere near the amount of negatives that Hillary had. She did defeat Trump in a debate, so she was more qualified than Trump on that day at least.

That distinction belongs to the Republican nominee in 2016 who never held elective office or any governmental position for that matter and his supposed credentials as a successful businessman in the private sector include managing at least six entities into bankruptcy not to mention a history of stiffing employees, contractors and creditors as well as running a fraudulent "university". Voters thought that they were voting for a business genius based on a character created by Mark Burnett and NBC for a reality television show.
