Thank you for making my point. If Manchin hadn't killed Build Back Better, Biden-Harris would have tacked on $2.2 trillion to our credit card bill. We can argue all day about taxes, but Trump's tax cuts turn into 3.5% unemployment and record wage growth. Here's an idea: how about no new spending unless it's a catastrophic national emergency? Replace old programs with new ones, so as to remain deficit neutral and allow government to continue investing in newer technologies. Until government learns how to stop spending money they don't have, we will never conquer the debt. Raising taxes in response to deficits is grossly negligence and highly irresponsible. We should freeze tax rates in place now for another 10 years and focus on cutting spending. Once the Federal government begins running a surplus, then we can have the debate about raising taxes. If a "moderate" like Biden was going to explode the budget via Build Back Better, what do you think the most liberal Senator is going to do? She will plunge us into further debt. No, we shouldn't tax people more to pay for her gross fiscal irresponsibility.
Not me. I want first and foremost what’s best for my family, although one would hope that the two are not mutually exclusive.
