I was in the pool last weekend for a couple hours having a few drinks, and it was fine. Makes all the difference in the world both while you're in and once you get out. But yeah, even then the pool has to be deep enough and it has to be hot enough outside that it doesn't feel like a bath tub.
Going through cases of water a day. Had a guy have heat stroke today and had to go home. It's no joke out there.
Getting in after a good bit a rain adding cooler water to the pool is nice. My GF's pool isn't super deep, but that additional cool rainwater is refreshing. A dozen or so beers also helps.
Montana - ruling for the kids! I have been somewhat following this issue. It is based on specific provisions of Montana law so may not be generally applicable although there are similar provisions in other states. But I know this is a lawsuit a lot of people have been tracking as potentially highly consequential A judge in Montana ruled on Monday that young people in the state have a constitutional right to a healthful environment, finding in a landmark case that the state’s failure to consider climate change when evaluating new projects was causing harm. The case, brought by a group of young Montana residents ranging in age from 5 to 22, is the first of its kind to go to trial in the United States. While the state has contended that Montana’s emissions are minuscule when considered against the rest of the globe’s, the plaintiffs argued that the state must do more to consider how emissions are contributing to droughts, wildfires and other growing risks to a state that cherishes a pristine outdoors. In her ruling, Kathy Seeley, a district court judge, found that the state’s emissions “have been proven to be a substantial factor” in affecting the climate.
My pool in the Orlando area is 86. Has direct sunlight for most of the day. It usually gets to 85-86 every summer. But this past week was one of the hottest feeling weeks since maybe 98 in that drought of a summer.
My AC went out Friday evening. Couldn't get anyone to come out until this morning. Brutal. Also, first world problems.
Highest unemployment ever recorded 24.7% in ~USA~ not today, but in 1933. And with no Joe Biden on Earth.
Wow, Could you imagine how much worse it would have been if he was around then? We got lucky, thanks for sharing
Yes, and also how much warmer Death Valley would have been if all this industrial CO2 had been around then!
I think I did more than attempt it, but in short, I would just suggest that finding that an outcome A occurred in the past before a possible cause B existed is no evidence that B cannot cause A. Otherwise, finding a dead body in the rubble of ancient Pompeii would have exonerated OJ Simpson.
High temp in Minneapolis today - 97. Two and a half hours north in Duluth - 67. Winters suck royally, but we sure have it good in summer.
