Orange face is cutting a deal with the Cartels.

NY and California become territories of Guatamala by decree of the Emperor.
In exchange for a significant cut of the drug action of course.

“NEW YORK — Local couple Marty and Shelly Cross have been officially charged with fraud after listing their home for $499,000 when it ultimately sold for slightly less.

"The Cross family knowingly and willfully tried to get a good deal when they sold their home," explained Attorney General Letitia James. "The State of New York hereby assesses the Cross family a fine of $50 million for their egregious actions. If they cannot pay by tomorrow, we will begin kidnapping their children to hold as ransom."

According to sources, the bank had performed an appraisal and actually approved a loan for the buyer at $499,000, though ultimately after negotiations the selling price was slightly less. "Yes, the bank agreed to the price set by the Cross family," admitted James. "That doesn't mean Mr. and Mrs. Cross did not commit fraud! Banks, as we all know, are poor and helpless and at the mercy of whatever amount of money people ask for. The feeble, powerless bank is the victim here, having been duped by the Cross family - and they will pay!"

At publishing time, Letitia James had put up billboards across New York with the faces of the Cross family and how much they owed in fines.”

All the Trump defenders on this seem to want to ignore the fact that Trump actually got an appraisal, and then declared a value triple from that. If he didn’t agree with the appraisal he could have asked for a review or gotten a second one. As far as I know he did neither.
It’s about as clear cut as a case can be.

He allegedly is appealing the NY case too, so good luck to whomever put up that money:

Once again conservatives have demonstrated that they aren't very good at satire. Would have been more analogous to Trump if the title was "couple refinanced their house for $5 million when it ultimately sold for $485,000".

Not just inflating the value that but he falsified the underlying data. Specifically he tripled the sq footage of his NYC apartment to support an increased valuation. That’s not even arguable as a mistake or differing opinion, just straight fraud.

Well, this partially explains why the NYC/County needs this $400+MM from DT .... fund the impact of the "border crises" of 2022-2023.

Asylum Seeker Staffing Contract Comparison and Review : Office of the New York City Comptroller Brad Lander (nyc.gov)

The analysis found that the prices of commensurate services across the four contracts varied wildly for the same services. Vendors are supplying staff to perform comparable functions at wildly different rates from one another and, in addition, at rates that are significantly higher than the rates usually paid to existing New York City shelter vendors and, in most cases, higher than public sector civil servants.

In one particularly egregious instance, SLSCO LP (SLSCO), an emergency contractor procured by New York City Emergency Management (NYCEM), charged hourly rates that were 237% more than a similar contract secured by the Department of Homeless Services (DHS) for the Essey Group, LLC (Essey). The Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD)’s contract with Rapid Reliable Testing d/b/a DocGo charged 146% more than DHS’ Essey contract, for the same positions. In another, SLSCO is billing the City $201.06 per hour for off-site managers – almost double what is billed in the Garner Environmental Services, Inc. (Garner) master agreement held by the Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS), and four times more than DocGo for their off-site management positions.

There was little, if any, evidence of coordination or planning between City agencies to evaluate and monitor prices of services or to ensure commensurate pricing across City agencies. In the case of the services purchased through the DCAS Garner master agreement, three different agencies were charged with some component of oversight, two of which could not furnish the Comptroller’s Office with documentation upon request. One example of the results of this: NYC Health and Hospitals (H+H), one of the agencies utilizing the Garner master agreement, pays over $117 per hour for Garner security staff while NYCEM, drawing on the same Garner contract, only pays approximately $79 per hour. The difference is simply that one agency chose to negotiate its terms and the other did not.

The City agencies charged with serving asylum seekers entered into these costly, no-bid, contracts at the same time that they are facing budget cuts and hiring freezes. The analysis[4] of just one site found that hiring new City employees instead of staffers supplied by the vendor would deliver as much as $50 million in savings in a single year, even when factoring in the costs of fringe benefits for City employees. The current practice is a recipe for fiscal waste.

There's also the part about Trump being a fraudster that has to pay for committing crimes.

I think that's a lot more relevant than any city/county budget.....

Trump hasn't appealed yet he's filed a notice of appeal. He can't appeal without the bond.

However, I have a feeling some illicit cash is going to come in from somewhere to cover the bond at the last minute like MBS, Putin or Elon.

I don't practice in NY, so take this with a grain of salt. But there's been a lot of conflicting information out there, and I don't think your post is accurate based on what I've read. A Notice of Appeal is jurisdictional and begins the appellate process. Having the right to appeal is not conditioned upon the posting of an appellate bond. The posting of an appellate bond precludes the judgment creditor from executing upon the judgment while the appeal is pending. It's essentially a way to make sure the money is available to the judgment creditor in the event the appellant loses the appeal. That doesn't necessarily mean Trump can't ask for a stay of the case without posting the bond, but that's a different question.

This is absolutely my expectation. Or maybe he can convince Liddle' Jared Kushner to release some from the $2 billion investment fund.

More interesting, perhaps, is what to expect if Trump is elected again - or actually what will be the magnitude of what we know to expect; selling US security secrets and monetizing foreign policy to offset the bill finally coming due from a lifetime of fraud and grift.

Fascinating to watch at least. What a time to be alive!

That was fast. NY appellate court told the orange menace to pay the full bond if you want to appeal. They rejected his $100M counter offer (lol).

After Trump's lawyers went into court and said that he doesn't have the $464 million to post bond, the deranged orange freak went onto Truth Social last night saying he had $500 million in the bank and planned to self fund his campaign.

Someone is going to have some 'splainin to do to the court.
