    You’re missing the whole quid pro quo, failure to disclose, creating false paper trail, bribery, wire fraud, etc. I also can’t fathom your “targeted” comment. You honestly think prosecutors in NY targeted a Democrat mayor after a three-year law enforcement investigation? You think half a dozen prosecutors gave up their jobs to avoid dropping “targeted” charges? You think he’s targeted when you admit to not knowing the details (nor apparently the different tax treatments and official reporting requirements)? Do you know how silly that sounds?

    As to your last point, they’re not at all the same. The IRS does not tax travel reward programs or upgrades the companies issue. If a third party pays for it then it’s a completely different story and a value is assigned to that, which Adams knew and intentionally concealed through non-reporting and creating false documents.
