You’re getting defensive in the face of multiple posters all calling you out on your negativity. It’s understandable, but rather than expending all that energy against overwhelming odds, why don’t you do yourself a massive favor and consider that we all aren’t wrong?

As I said before, you can debate the extent of the impact in relation to other factors.....but there is NO question that the negativity of fans on message boards and social media does hurt. I sat at a dinner table with the family of a Napier recruit who were stunned at the venom after season one. Talk to our people involved with putting the NIL deals together and ask what they deal with in putting out fires.

I believe that the entirety of social media has an impact. But that narrative is fostered by what's actually occurring. There's no conspiracy. If you think a recruit will find a way to this board and decide UF isn't a good place because fans aren't happy about poor game management and a 5 win season, so be it. It's possible. But they come here knowing "what's up". Factors outside of Gator Country are much much more significant. Conversely, all the sunshine pumping on the planet will not affect a player's decision if he, family, coaches see something different.

 

Well we are talking about the entirety of social media...of which GC is a part. Who said anything about a "conspiracy"....not even sure what you are talking about in that regard?
Recruits and families are part of the social media experience, at this site and myriad others. It's not "possible", it is guaranteed. They see stuff and yes it can impact them. As I have now said three times, you can argue that impact vs other factors.....but you were arguing it had NO factor. And that is patently incorrect.

 

I'm not even sure who you're referring to, but I'm pretty sure that I would agree with the above conclusion(s). I base that on the fact that whomever it is you guys are seemingly fed up with resides in the LB cornfield as my personal guest, at the moment at least.
