Johnny Tillotson from Jacksonville who was a student at UF before he launched his singing career has died at age 86.
In Palatka my mother once gave me a ride in her car somewhere, I don't remember why, but he sat in the back seat and asked if she would mind if he practiced his singing. She said no, not at all, so he sang for her while she drove.
