Also remember, when Biden took office, Title 42 Remain in Mexico was in place. It was a pandemic only order, and as soon as the pandemic lifted, the immigrants no longer were required to remain in Mexico. Instead, they could come and legally request asylum.

I wouldn't put it beyond Trump to withdraw their temporary protected status in effect terminating their legal status and making them eligible for deportation. Trump threatened to do so to the Haitians residing in Springfield, OH. I recall one case during Trump's first administration in which the temporary protected status of an immigrant from El Salvador was withdrawn. The guy had lived in the US for 20 years, was married to an American citizen, had two US citizen children and a six figure income as a construction project manager. Those factors still didn't stop the Trump administration from deporting him.

In his first Administration Trump was going to withdraw the temporary protected status of Haitians living in Mt. Olive, North Carolina. I don't think that the Administration followed through because it would have destroyed the economy of the town. That probably will not be the case in the second Trump Administration.

Gotta say - it's weird that people like you seem to still think that there will be mass deportation of illegal immigrants.

Most likely, they will make a dog and pony show out of going after some criminals. Pretend it matters much. They might do a well publicized bust at a factory or two.

But people like you have been conned all along, and are just continuing to be conned. Ever wonder why Trump didn't do this during his first term? What's next, the release of his health care plan?

 

I think you're going to be disappointed when Trump doesn't mass deport all the illegal aliens. That was just a campaign promise to get people like you excited. Sure, he'll make a show of deporting some, but we're already doing that. Trump knows it would be economic suicide to actually follow up on his campaign promise.
