I think the fact that UcheaT consistently plays dirty and always seems to get away with this kind of crap is what I'm most aggravated with. Between two random teams I'd tend to agree with @tampajack1 since it was more of a move toward the ball than bringing his arm down on a player or his head intentionally. Plus the classlessness of their disgusting fans after the injury.
I did watch it. We disagree. On the road not gonna be a foul call in some places. At home it is a call. Doesn’t matter id accident or swinging to tap ball out. Contact is contact. Played enough, coached enough, watched enough to feel this way.
What did there fans do that any home crowd wouldn’t have done. Officials don’t normally stop the game in that situation
Your saying I’m wearing O and B glasses. I may be a bit frustrated for sure. I could be wrong but don’t feel like I’m biased. I’m usually harder/tougher on the Gators. And maybe the missed non call on the foul on the 3 point shot led me to feel Refs were having a bad day.
I already explained that that was a tough play to call. McKissic got the defender into the air. All he needed to do was go straight up for the shot, and he would have drawn the foul. Instead, he moved forward into the defender and made the initial contact. I don’t think that would have been reversed on a review, and I believe that is a play that has become a point of emphasis with the officials. I’ve been to more than 500 games in Gainesville, and I have screamed at the refs in most of them. Then I come home and replay the game, and, lo and behold, my screaming was unwarranted most of the time. The bottom line is we lost.
My impression was that the toothless thought JJ was faking an injury. Given the typical IQ in knoxvegas, they probably forgot and mixed up sports.
Feel sorry for him. He was playing well and just starting to come into his own. Had done a nice job of changing his body fat composition.
Soon as his eye scar heals, he should wear a pirates patch, especially the Tennessee game, and let their bigs have his wrath. I know he won’t play again this year, but revenge would be sweet. Barnes has had many games in his career, where there were fights due to his philosophies with fouling hard. Just talk to Tar Heel Fans! JJ get fouls just because he is enormous and plays soft not to get fouls. I say let the big man be assertive and put opposing teams on notice, starting with Tennessee!
Sorry if I missed it, but have the specifics been released? I had a very serious eye injury years ago. 2 surgeons would not touch it. Fortunately one of the best eye surgeons in the region was in the hospital that night and came to the ER to take a look at my injury. He literally saved my eye that night. I made a full recovery after several months of post treatments etc. It is an incredibly scary thing to go through.
Nice, do you know if that means some of our senior transfers have an extra year of eligibility too or is this their last season
