As the old coach said it’s not about the X’s and O’s. It’s about the Jimmys and Joes. Cuss Billy all you want. Yes he needs an OC. Yes he needs a good O-line coach. The bottom line with this team is it is filled with non-SEC talent or SEC talent that is young and would normally be red-shirted and learning from older players. That’s what Billy has. So we stick it out and let him build on a team that FOUGHT HARD FOR THEIR COACHES AND EACHOTHER or we go into another buyout scenario and then what sane big-time coach would take the job? So all of us have no choice but to keep pulling for these overmatched kids who are fighting their guts out and wait for the new recruiting class and that’s reality.
And then there are the coachable lazies and the slows... we need to fix. Our practices are slow and lazy... It shows in games.
It doesn't this year. The freshman play and get experience and we better hope we can pull in a top 10 class or this coaching staff is not going to make through 2024.
When you have sufficient depth to firmly introduce a player's rear-end to the bench if he won't do what you coach him and tell him to do . . . until he does. It makes a huge difference between potentially losing your spot and knowing there's not really anyone there to take it.
