So, please elaborate on this "history"? How many years? How about in P5 competition? Dan Mullen had a "history" of getting us to NY6 bowls, too. How'd that work out. I imagine you were a defender of his as well. If my shtick is calling out lunacy takes, like yours, then yes I am guilty.
People are dreaming. Nobody's getting fired and nobody should (with the possible exception of the ILB coach) hence we don't have an opening.
I took over a department...very inexperienced and not producing but I replaced a couple guys. On arrival I was running a bad team. Now....am a superstar. Billy Napier will do the same and I know it. It's all about talent and buying in...next year will fulfill your Gator ego.
No one is asking Billy to get rid of Toney, but if arguably the best DC in football is available we shouldnt look?
BINGO! Do you folks even know who Jim Leonhard is? He's been at Wisconsin 5 years. Two of those five years they LED THE NATION in total defense (not the Sun-Belt, the nation). Four of those five years, they were in the top 15. If you guys are fine with Toney, great. Excuse the rest of us for looking.
I will not blame the players for this year's overall record, because the players did seem to "get it" in some games where they played lights-out good. And they are more talented than some here are giving them credit for, no matter what these coaching sycophants say. Toney is a wildcard with youth and inexperience as our DC, and his the job training was quite apparent, and we deserve better than that. We deserve an experienced DC... a proven DC. But... I do NOT wish to rid Toney from the coaching staff.
College football is a HUGE business... hire the best. Those that fit the "Gator standard" that is... Lol. ON THE JOB TRAINING IS FOR DIRECTIONAL SCHOOLS!!!!
yep. Packers DC likely canned after this year. I suspect Leonard to be offered the job again in Green Bay and likely accept. No reason for him to stay around now, make less money, as apparently his dream job of head coach at UW ain’t happening since he just got snubbed.
Chris Couch, Czar of Game Changers, is gonna get canned and should be. Zero improvement game 1 to 12. Arguably got worse.
La Fleur will have to jettison someone to take the heat off of himself. After watching tonight's game, I would agree that it will be the DC. Leonhard will move two hours north to GB.
We don't have a special teams coach. We have a special teams analyst. He doesn't work directly or coach special teams. He develops game plans and tendencies of the opposing team.
