I see, I hadn't seen the other video. Just the one posted above. I saw the other video, and that makes the bicyclist's actions even more egregious...yikes!

That dude is so lucky to be alive.

Oh, I couldn't get the op video to load because it says I need YouTube account, so I found it somewhere else.

Not a fan of any of her actions, but once she was present to move her car, it seemed silly to also tow it. Give her the citation and move on. The reason of towing it "because trucks can't make their turn" was nullified by her being physically present to move it. She can still pay all the same related costs.

I love how another dude on a bike does the exact same thing as the victim os limping from the roadway.

From personal experience, having a cyclist hit your vehicle at low speeds is not the most obvious thing - although I did stop cause I wasn’t sure what happened.

I know corruption rules but does it have to be so obvious.*

Yikes! He's very lucky. She definitely should've stopped to make sure he was okay. The footage would've clearly shown the cyclist was at fault, but she chose to drive off. Shame on her and punish her accordingly.

He had the green light. Not sure if his actions constitute "lane-splitting" but that might be legal in NJ. As a 4-wheeler driver, I have zero problems with motorcycles safely moving through and getting out of the way.

I tend to agree And might have gotten a break if she hadn't been 2 years expired. If I do that in my state I can actually be arrested if it is over 6 months and you are a 2 time offender.

A 2 year expiration is pretty rediculous.

    Not registering vehicles for years.
    Parking in loading zones.
    Hit and run.
Warrant for arrest. (In another link in the article)

She has zero business representing the people of her city.

You're correct the light was green (barely, he didn't appear as though he was going to stop). Also, he didn't appear to be lane splitting. Was all the way to the far half of the oncoming lane over a double yellow. Likely illegal no matter how you slice it.

You're a very objective poster so I'm surprised by your take on this unless you know the laws on the matter. I'm assuming it's a law and that's why it's being towed. There are certain discretionary options officers can make at times like serving a summons instead of arrest but again, I don't know their Statutes on this one. Also 2 years of not registering is pretty egregious. That combined with her fleeing a scene even if the biker was at fault exhibits a pretty callous disregard for rules or others albeit in hindsight.

Apparently I missed the part about registration. I heard the police officer reference that it was being towed because of where it was parked at one point.

Just the way he passed the cars into a blind intersection. Probably happens a millions time a day in Jersey City or across the river too, just seems so dangerous.

Car was 2 years expired per the cop. I think it took a backseat in the conversation because the parking issue led to an accident with damage.

He was on the wrong side of the road across a double yellow line. I've never heard of that being legal anywhere.

I know it's way off-topic for this thread but I'm surprised that he hasn't returned to gloat about the Dobbs decision overturning Roe v. Wade. The guy was truly obsessive about the abortion issue.

Which would lead me to believe that lane-spitting is prolly OK. As a reformed motorcycle rider I actually agree with it.

But the first guy just plainly ran the red. Not sure what he could possibly have been thinking while passing all the stopped cars. Councilwoman is innocent for the collision.

Also agree that her disregard for living amongst the rest of us and all our rules is actionable.

Not stopping, eh, I’m 99% unsold on the idea that she just didn’t realize it. But couple it with the registration and I am in favor of her being sentenced to getting a job.
