My larger point was not meant to be specific to this particular transfer starting. The discussion about expectations just led to my personal commentary: I hope we manage expectations better than a year ago… so not to have disharmony among transfers, returnees or incoming. Also meeting a transfer’s expectations isn’t necessarily a cure all… and could, at times, be the root of issues. For example. If a transfer is assured a starting role or minute allotment that conflicts with the expectations of a returnee…. that could cause problems. Transfers, I’m sure are tricky, as they are typically moving for reasons related to opportunity and playing time. My guess is they want to hear those assurances. Anyway, I hope we can avoid disharmony. I would actually like to see us have less depth than we did last season… at least less redundant depth. I think a good equation for stability includes a couple developmental guys who come in with an awareness this is not their year. I know it’s idealistic, but I would love for us to get to place where we have less attrition each season.
