Everyone of the witnesses supported Trump too. Everyone of them is a Republican. And, liberals aren’t trashing our country. Despicable people who enable this assault on democracy are. All these witnesses who stood with Trump— like you do and still do— are now trash in your eyes. You spread the stolen election lie and then boost-strap it to support your willingness to support Trump’s Coup. It isn’t “Liberals” who are ruining trashing the country. It is you fringe right wingers.

One of the Democratic members of the January 6th Committee objected to counting Florida’s electoral votes in the 2016 election, but had his objection overruled because it lacked a Senate sponsor.

Does both being on this committee and objecting to a prior electoral vote
count make him a patriot, or anti-Democratic and anti-American?

Aren't pissing me off at all. I have spent zero minutes watching the dog and pony show. Keep thinking this is an issue. The rest of the US will be worried about real things, like inflation and somehow putting food on the table. I'm sure this "Coup" will have a HUGE affect come November LOL.

The congressional committee already has all the facts. They can issue a report. I understand televising these 'bombshell' hearings if the idea is to get support for Garland to charge Trump. If not, they are a waste of time (in my humble opinion).

I was looking forward to engaging with you on a factual level in hopes of appealing to your open mindedness. Alas, no more.

I'll just refute some of your observations.

Ornato is the one that mentioned "The Beast" in connection with trump's departure. Is it material what kind of car he was referring to? No, it is not. For all we know, any vehicle the president is in may be called "The Beast". Given Ornato was previously on the president's Secret Service detail, he may know what he's talking about.

"CASSIDY HUTCHINSON: When I returned to the White House, I walked upstairs towards the chief of staff's office, and I noticed Mr. Ornato lingering outside of the office. Once we had made eye contact, he quickly waved me to go into his office, which was just across the hall from mine. When I went in, he shut the door, and I noticed Bobby Engel, who was the head of Mr. Trump's security detail, sitting in a chair, just looking somewhat discombobulated and a little lost.

I looked at Tony and he had said, did you f'ing hear what happened in the beast? I said, no, Tony, I — I just got back. What happened? Tony proceeded to tell me that when the president got in the beast, he was under the impression from Mr. Meadows that the off the record movement to the Capitol was still possible and likely to happen, but that Bobby had more information."

    ----
This was the official statement from the Secret Service (facts matter?):

"The United States Secret Service has been cooperating with the Select Committee since its inception in spring 2021, and will continue to do so, including by responding on the record to the Committee regarding the new allegations surfaced in today's testimony,".

Engel and Ornato will have their opportunity to refute it under oath. Does trump trying to grab the steering wheel or not materially change the overarching evidence of an attempted coup?

As noted earlier, this is a unresolved dispute between two parties. The fact that you choose Herschmann's word over a sworn party speaks to your bias. Did you know that Herschmann unequivocally stated that Eastman and trump's plan to stop the count was illegal? Did you know Herschmann stated that Clark and trump's desire to have the DOJ claim election fraud was likely illegal? If you trust Herschmann's word, you're admitting trump was attempting an illegal coup. Maybe you don't know this because your time as an American cannot be wasted by watching the prior hearings.

Your claim that the witnesses in these hearings are all RHINOs is the stupidest f***g take, ever. Can you list the sworn witnesses, both in person and on video, of the 6 hearings? No. Because you can't be bothered by watching.

This was a great waste of my time.

I can’t give a cite, but I recall even Trump claiming he wanted to go to the Capitol and the Secret Service refused to let him go. That is a material fact that is not close to being in dispute.

Additionally, why do Trumpians have to name-call anybody (here, “RINOs”, but always something derogatory) who disagrees with them? I’ve never come across a more juvenile group of cultists.

They are still investigating as evidenced by the Holden documentary as well as the continued appeals for people to come forward.

There will be a written report upon conclusion of these hearings. In my opinion, it does our TV watching, attention-deficit country a service by airing the findings.

This whole thing would have been so much more interesting if they would have let Trey Gowdy cross examine every witness. At least more people would tune into it instead of just political theater.

Meadows claimed in his book that Trump was speaking metaphorically about going to the capital. Proving that was BS (and that Trump knew some of his people were armed when he tried to lead them to the capital) is hugely important to sedition charges for Trump (and probably Meadows). Whether Trump grabbed the steering wheel, or attempted to grab it, or grabbed at the agent, or did grab him is interesting.

Don’t just rely on CNN. look at other mainstreams sources including WSJ. It isn’t hard to see a general consensus on the facts. It isn’t always right but it usually is.

Most of these hearing are people testifying who are republicans. You have two prominent republicans on the committee who are in no way liberal by any historical measure.

Unlike a few other kool aid drinkers in here it would seem you have the ability to differentiate reality and fact from ideology. But in a thread about the pretty disgusting acts of Trump and his minions most of your postings are ranting about CNN and “libbies”

It's really simple. 60% of Repubs voted against certifying the 2020 election despite no evidence of election fraud. And the number would have been higher had not some Repubs changed their intentions after the Capitol riot that day. The party as a whole is anti-democratic and anti-American. Why would you try to defend that?

After watching the Benghazi hearings, I concluded that Trey Gowdy was a true master of political theater. This article from 2015 says it all.
A masturbatory exercise in political theater: The Benghazi hearing showed exactly why Americans hate Congress

During the tea party days it was an indication of lack of ideological purity, even though that brand of conservatism has always been in the minority in the Republican Party.

Now it has morphed into a flat out Test of Trump loyalty regardless of ideology.

What was the real embarrassment was the attack on the Capitol on January 6, 2021 supported and encouraged by a defeated president who refused to accept reality. Even more embarrassing was that the attempted coup was supported after the fact by a majority of members of defeated president's own party including those who initially saw the (fortunately failed) insurgency for what it was.
