According to the cultists this was just another touristy day at the Capital, typical 134 LEO assaults, a few fatalities, just the usual illegal attempt to stop the Democratic transfer of power.

Are you saying that cops died that day from being assaulted?

I think you are misunderstanding the nature of my question. While of course I do think we should try to be respectful to one another, if youve decided that several posters no longer deserve respect, then that is your decision. I know that you feel attacked by several posters, and I understand your desire to retaliate.

However, among the central reasons we come here (I think) is for argument and information. Your post contained neither. I am not here to jump on you. I was thinking that we all at times respond in ways we didn’t intend, and it’s good to have friendly reminders. If I am wrong on this and you want TH to be a forum for insult exchange, I apologize and I won’t bother you about this again. :emoji_right_facing_fist:

I do enjoy reading most comments, and yes, I have attacked several on a regular basis and yes, I feel most of them don't deserve any respect, but will acknowledge I can take it a bit far at times

Why am I not surprised? For MAGA nation and it's enablers in Congress and the right-wing media the truth is optional. If actual facts do not support their narrative there are always alternative facts.

Why do you think you are being attacked? Is it because of your “conservative” values?

When MAGA folks open their mouth they’re lying, unless (sometimes) they’re under oath.

Reminds of that Nancy Mace crazy, who was caught saying one thing on CNN then literally took the exact opposite position in a Fox News interview.

Politicians are going to exaggerate and tell little white lies of course, but it’s pretty tragic they can confidently get away with total bs like this.

You just touched on a major problem when it comes to Jan 6 discussions. The media constantly turns things like an assault into a beating....It makes no difference what that assault is, it could be as minor as a touch or a tap on the shoulder but when CNN, MSNBC or NYT get hold of it it becomes a beating.

Yup. It's the fault of the media that, during the violent part of Trump's conspiracy to overturn an election, about 140 cops were sent to the hospital.

    Damn media!

Poster continues to inquire as to crimes committed on Jan. 6th :

"Nearly three years after a mob attacked the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, in support of former President Donald J. Trump, the criminal investigation into the events of that day pushes on.

Prosecutors have called the riot inquiry the largest in the history of the Justice Department, and there is no doubt it is vast by any measure.

Every week, a few more people are arrested.

As of December, about 1,240 people had been arrested in connection with the attack, accused of crimes ranging from trespassing, a misdemeanor, to seditious conspiracy, a felony.

More than 350 cases are still pending.

Around 170 people have been convicted at trial, while only two people have been fully acquitted. Approximately 710 people have pleaded guilty …

... and among those, around 210 pleaded guilty to felony offenses.

After being convicted or pleading guilty, more than 720 people have received sentences so far …

By Alan Feuer and Molly Cook Escobar Jan. 3, 2024 in NYT

… and more than 450 of them were sentenced to periods of incarceration, ranging from a handful of days to more than 20 years.

And while there have been about 1,240 arrests as of early December …

… that may be only half of the total indictments that will ultimately be filed."
Other charges :eek:ther defendants have been charged with assaulting, resisting, or impeding officers or employees, including approximately 123 individuals who have been charged with using a deadly or dangerous weapon or causing serious bodily injury to an officer.

When questioned by both me and another poster about the 100s of cops he said were beaten gatorjo answered.
    to which I replied.
Do you follow where my statement comes from.....The MSM hypes minor assaults into beatings then liberal poster take it from there?

Somewhere around 140 police went to the hospital as a result of violent attacks during the violent part of Trump's conspiracy to subvert a federal election.

Yet you're willing, make that excited, to vote that criminal back into the highest office in the land. Why are you actually even talking?
