Considering the fact that there are zero currently committed, i'd say so. You can't just not bring in any
Perhaps you can just name the CBs you believe are currently committed, cause i'm not sure how else to proceed.
We signed 6 last class, on top of 7 freshmen and sophs already on the roster. Just didn’t consider CB a position of need this cycle
We signed 6 TOTAL defensive backs last class and 3 the year before. Not trying to get a single CB just cause we signed a few in the previous 2 years seems questionable at best, especially since there are almost always 5 DBs on the field at a time these days. Need to bring in at least one, hopefully Jamari Howard. That would still leave plenty of room in the class with only 17 commits so far.
Bama has a total of one this class and that is Grimsley. Last class we signed 3 CB's and 3 safeties Bama signed 2 CB's and 2 safeties and 1 transfer CB. I don't see anybody freaking out about their numbers. We'll probably land Teddy foster at the position next but we currently have 9 CB's and 5 safeties on our roster so we have numbers , also most of those CB's are under classmen.
And nobody is freaking out over ours, I just said it would be silly to not sign a single CB this cycle. We only have 17 commits. There's easily room for a quality CB along with any other positions of need.
and with Corey Raymond as our position group coach, I'm sure it's more a matter of who they want seeing as they didn't give "showtime" Denson the greenlight to commit.
And even if we don't, if the portal is good for anything it usually boast some quality CB's Either way I can't see Corey Raymond completely whiffing on the position he has become renowned for. Just the fact that they didn't give "Showtime" Denson the greenlight to commit when he wanted to tells me they have a plan.
We need to improve speed in secondary more than anything else. After watching pro day and combine times did our secondary kids the last few years, that is a huge need. Some of the slowest times for Dafeties of draft eligible players
Exactly. That's something, even at corner, we've worked hard since the new staff has taken over to address and that's speed in the secondary. I was FLOORED by the 40 times of Torrence and Dean. That's completely unacceptable
