There is a difference between porn and child porn. A huge difference. Whatever the heck consenting adults want to put on tape, that's their thing. When you involve an underage child, that crime now has a victim, the most helpless victim of all.
I'm sorry, but this porn addiction spilling over to child porn is garbage. They can't be lumped together.

 

Unfortunately, you're right about the last part, and that's a big problem. But gatorlmc is correct in saying there is available (non-criminal justice) treatment out there. It can be found - the reason you don't know about it is because the people (and their families) who seek it generally don't talk about it - which is a large problem in general for mental health treatment, but especially in this case.

I've served on the board of a children's psychiatric hospital for the past 15 years. When talking about mental health, we always reminds people - Treatment works, if you can get it. Usually that means if you're willing to seek it out.

As for Jalen Kitna, there is still debate on whether such impulses (if that's what he has) can truly be eliminated, but there is general consensus that they can be managed and controlled with treatment.

 

The current topic of child porn is repulsive and understandably dominates the discussion right now. But everybody using the word “porn” in their discussion raises a provocative question of what constitutes “porn”. A graphic movie of 2 (or more) people banging away is porn by my account. Is a tasteful picture of a topless woman “porn”? I don’t think so.

The word carries a connotation that draws an ugly picture and colors the discussion to an extent. FWIW, I love boobs and will not turn away at a picture of a woman’s breasts. Does that make me “addicted to porn”?

Hes been dismissed from team.

 

Orlando Sentinel reporting that he has been dismissed from the team. No idea or mention as to his status as a student at UF but there is speculation that he will be expelled as well.
