McDaniel and all of the other freshmen and true sophomores playing are not going to learn how not to get beat on the bench (including Marshall our highest ranked freshman who is a stud and has gotten beaten multiple times as well). They have to get into live games. Practices where hitting has to be limited is not going to cut it. You will see Bama and Uga players missing tackles as well. That we are winning games big with tons of freshmen playing is a good thing, not a bad thing.
Listening to Shane Matthews, he was saying that probably Mordecai, with that formation, saw wide receiver screen in his film study. The number one wide receiver came off and blocked, did a stutter and go and Mordecai was caught flat-footed. Said it was a good play by Tennessee and it happens.
Right. Those kinda plays happen. Sometimes the offense actually catches you slipping. There are some deficiencies opposite of Elam but the only way the young ones will get better is by playing them
Come to think of it I wouldn't be surprised this was the impetus for Mullen calling the double pass out of a wide receiver screen. Mullen to Heupel: take that smart guy!
Agree, but it was really set up by Whit getting anihilated on a previous wr screen. I think CDM can't pass that stuff up to keep db from cheating up.
Off topic more or less but I feel like CDM has a lot of plays that worked back in the day or a few seasons past but he doesn't call them anymore.
In fairness, things don’t always come together. I just think UF should have at least one high level NFL CB per class and occasionally one should mention how much he loves TG’s scheme.
Perkins doesn’t know where to line up, but he makes plays. Tre’Vez lines up fine, but runs himself out of plays.
@sHiNeR2 and I were chatting about how TJ needs his snaps reduced as the only time you notice him is when he’s struggling.
Gator writer over at Rivals submitted a prediction of Singletary to UF. 23/25 on his picks so far and has only missed on the Glover to UF and Stinson to Ole Miss picks. I think he just didn't switch those picks when it became apparent those kids weren't going to go to the schools he predicted. Rivals.com
