Does anyone remember a similar contretemps involving another VP at a different cultural gathering? (Hint: Pence, Hamilton, NYC) So, the Vances appearance at a National Symphony Orchestra performance prompted prolonged booing and general verbal unhappiness. Mostly, one assumes, due to the high-handed hostile takeover of the Kennedy Center Board of Directors, but standing in lengthy security lines, which delayed the performance for half an hour, couldn't have helped. Afterwards, the President of the Kennedy Center responded with: “As President, I take diversity and inclusion very seriously,” he wrote. “I have met with many of you, and I love that we are Christian, Muslim, Jewish, agnostic, gay, straight, black, white, Hispanic and absolutely different.” “Intolerance towards people who are politically different is just as unacceptable as intolerance in other areas,” he added. “Everyone is welcome at the Kennedy Center.” What??!! Did he just use the words "diversity and inclusion" in a positive way? Have all his MAGA memos gone astray? Someone notify Elonald, post haste!
Applause is EXTREMELY important to Dear Leader. Receiving adulation is one of the most important goals in life for him.
My point is dear leader and therefor his followers care about applause and “crowd support”. But I missed the nuance this is the vp and therefor it’s different. ok we’ll see if Dear Leader or the WH replies. They frequently make a big deal out of issues no one really cared about or are trivial. But this JD item is already covered extensively on just about every single news outlet, including Fox and already has millions of views. I agree, not that big of an issue as we know what kind of flip/flopper and how petty Vance is. But yes, apparently many people care. Maybe your point is more it won't matter. Agree from the perspective of Vance. He's not going to suddenly get off the low road.
Not to worry. People watching Dukes of Hazzard reruns in their trailers are very supportive of Trump, Vance and co-President Musk.
He will show up when they do the Cats or Phantom revival, or perhaps an entire Andrew Lloyd Weber retrospective
What is one to make of this quote from Kennedy Center interim president Grenell? Why is he bringing race into this? In a separate post Friday on X, Grenell wrote in part, “It troubles me to see that so many in the audience appear to be white and intolerant of diverse political views.” Appear to be white?
Who does he think attends Kennedy Center events? Were they expecting Cletus to drive in from Hicksville?
In a 2016 interview with the New York Times, Vance said he had not realised that people listened to classical music for pleasure.
Must be why the music appreciation prof had to give extra credit for going to classical concerts at UF
