The status quo is the Palestinians launch a terror attack. Israel responds with bombs. This creates future terrorists among the Palestinian population who eventually launch a terror attack on Israel.

You can bomb your way to peace. Especially with a population that isn't interested in a peaceful solution. You audio can't install a puppet government and expect long term peace. Peace has to be desired from within.

Palestinians had plenty of chances for peace. They missed them all. The continuation of Israeli bombs only ensures more of the same, generational fighting while Palestinian citizens suffer and die. Agree to a ceasefire and most likely that's just giving Hamas time to reload. But they are doing that anyway. Continue fighting and there's no end. I say it's better to give peace a chance, even if it's unlikely to stick. .1% chance > 0%.

Who is apologizing for Hamas? They are a terrorist organization responsive for killing thousands of innocent Israelis. But at this point, Israel's bombs are only accomplishing a continuation of the same Israel/Palestinian conflict that's been going on for generations. As the saying goes, if you keep doing what you're doing, you're going to keep getting what you're getting.

I always thought it was funny that the liberals who are known to support artists (and those artists are even apart of the Dem party) who say the most vulgar things on a record. Cardi B, Megan the Stallion etc etc. Then you got the male rappers talking about guns, violence, killing, rape, using derogatory remarks about women (to say the least) that liberals claim to support... The point is leaders don't always represent 100% of their country. Especially in democracies. To think Israel is a monolithic block all wanting to continue the war against Hamas would be a mistake. Plenty of Israelis not happy with Netanyahu and would replace him tomorrow if they could. And come November, half the US won't be c happy with the election results.

 

I think there's a difference between making (IMO usually not good) musical recordings that contain profanity and vulgarity, and.......admitting to sexually assault women.

Have you ever said you could do something that you didn't or wouldn't do? "That store has no security I could rob it blind". There is a difference between actions and words. A lot of rap these days are real stories. Ever heard of Drill rap? Trap rap? King Von, a serial killer who was a rapper talked about killing his "ops" all the time. When he dies though, Lebron James (who I like as a person and basketball player despite this) offered his condolences as if he was this awesome, morally just person. Mystikal rapped about raping a girl and was convicted for it. There are plenty of examples.

The point is, this is low hanging fruit and you have to extend reality to make people believe he's going around just grabbing girls vaginas.

The problem is, the things that worked with Trump V Biden aren't hitting like they did back then. You guys keep crying wolf when there's a bear behind you. Things like "the end of Democracy as we know it".... He already had a term and you all lived through it. You won't say it but I bet you didn't complain much about your buying power back then. If you have substance, lets hear it... You gotta shelf life the low handing fruit, thats how Kamala wins this in a landslide.

Dont worry, you keep beating that dead horse. People stopped carring about this a long time ago. Your problem isn't that you have to convince yourself or other Dem voters, you have to get people who either dont care or forgot and they probably forgot because they don't care. These people you get with policy, not political persecution.

For a lot of people, when it comes to putting food on their plates or not. They don't give a flying F about what Trump said to someone one day. They care that they can feed their family. It's wild that the morally and intellectually superior people you claim to be can't just figure that out. Not everyone votes for Trump because they like him. The day you guys stop walking around high browing everyone and realize that there are real people out there who actually have to make real decisions based on their family dynamics will be the day people start looking to join the Dem party because you actually care about them and not their vote.

So you can’t kill terrorists if non combatants are killed, even if the terrorists hide among the non combatants?

I’m just trying to figure out the rules. Everybody seems to be an expert on the rules and norms of war for Israel, (which BTW seems to be different that everybody else in history and on the planet), so I am just trying to figure out what these rules are.

 

I didn't vote for Trump in 2016, 2020 and I wont in 2024. It must suck that your only response is "but Trump" and your slogans from the chain letter you received from your leaders this morning. How about this, think of someone who doesn't support Trump and how you would respond to them and then start typing. Don't worry, Im not waiting for magic to happen. As you know, besides the Geneva Convention, there are is no fixed rulebook. It's more a general code of morality.

And many people would say that killing 30-40,000 civilians -a majority probably being women and children- while displacing between 1.5 and 2 million civilians, and causing a famine that could impact as many.....is probably a disproportionate response to a terror attack that killed 1200, and also stretched the bounds of morality in order to kill between 10,000 and 20,000 (presumed but not confirmed) terrorists. To say nothing of the fact that the strategy is probably counterproductive in the long-term.

But this is just a talk forum, for opinions. You're as entitled to yours as anyone. In your opinion, killing, displacing and starving that many civilians may fit well within the bounds of your moral code.
