Is Trump really saying that, after he fixes things, no more elections?

I voted for Biden. I will not be voting for Trump.

Looking at it objectively, I don’t think he meant it like a dictatorship. He’s self centered. It’s the last time that HE can run. So THEY only have to vote one more time and they’ll never have to worry about voting again because he’s going to fix everything so good that the country will run itself.

He’s old and fumbles his words. He skips words. He doesn’t always finish sentences.

The Christian Christian Christian thing was so out of place. It’s like he forgot what he wanted to say, and just started, saying Christian Christian Christian to get the crowd to cheer until he remembered what he wanted to say. An old man finding his words. Extremely horrible choice of words.

Either that or the Republicans want a dictatorship. I hope it’s not the latter.

Posters can conjecture all they want. If he meant it, just pathetic. If he meant something else, then he is either senile or so inarticulate that he should never be president again. So either way, pathetic.

Sorry for coming off rude. I took your question as a jest and not a real inquiry.

Better an immigrant than Marjory Taylor Greene. Speaking of immigrants, do you remember when Trump told us that his father was born in a beautiful village in Germany. Turns out, it was the Bronx.

Yes. Trump is saying it out loud
He intends to win this election, fundamentally change the US, our election systems and our politics all together, become absolute ruler and with the power at his finger tips as monarch of the nation he will take over the world.
    Good grief
Both sides are getting intolerable more and more each day.

While I do not think that Trump will actually end elections he will probably do whatever he can to put in the fix and I do believe that if he was elected and actually had the power to do so he would certainly try. Let's not forget that in January 2021 Trump seriously considered invoking the Insurrection Act to prevent the certification of the election results and in effect the transfer of power to the Biden. In 2023 he threatened to invoke the act if he is elected.

I read through the whole thread first before listening to the video. Here are my thoughts on it:

    1. He was addressing his remarks to Christians, not the country is a whole.
    2. He didn’t say that there would not be any more elections. He said that the Christians would not have to get out and vote anymore.
    3. I took it to mean he will do such a good job fixing the country that everybody’s going to want to vote for him or his successors, so the Christians can stay home. Of course, the chance is slim to none that everybody is going to want to vote for him, but I think that’s what he meant.
    4. I heard him to say “I’m a Christian” not “I’m not a Christian,” but it’s not entirely clear. I can’t believe that he would tell Christians that he is not one of them when he is counting on their vote.

Not long ago somebody, I don’t remember who, posted that he thought most Trump supporters were voting for the Trump of their imaginations and not the Trump of reality. I think that was a brilliant insight, but I also think it applies to anti-Trump people. I think anti-Trump people rail against the Trump of their imagination, and that’s how we get every word he says twisted to be worse than it actually was.

While I agree Trump won't eliminate Presidental elections altogether, I fully expect him to put his thumb on the scale, like his mentor Putin, to predetermine the outcome.

That was my initial thought. “Vote me into office for 2024, and you’ll never have to vote again because I won’t be able to run and don’t care about anything that doesn’t involve me”

This is the only explanation I can think of. He will be going to die so he doesn’t care what happens after that. The only problem with this is I don’t think trump thinks the world would go on without him. So he doesn’t think he will ever die.

Personally, I think he is referring to the left being so radical that Americans or Christians will not have to worry about the country going blue.
