Is It Time For Men To Let Women Take Over Society?

What is a woman?

 

I say this as a former improv teacher. The advice I always give to any male who struggles to talk to females is go take Improv classes. The most important thing it does is teach you how to actively listen. You can't conversate without listening. This goes beyond male/female but it certainly makes a huge difference in being able to carry on a normal conversation with someone of the opposite sex. People think they are listening, when in reality most people are just waiting for the other person to stop talking so they can then say what they already decided they wanted to say.

Beyond teaching you how to listen it also teaches you how to positively reinforce what someone is telling you, which makes them more comfortable speaking with you.

You also usually can make friends in an improv class, which is an added bonus. Just don't be the creepy guy in improv class, nobody likes them.

 

If I were to lay out my thoughts on this matter, I would start in Genesis in the garden. Adam vacated his role as the spiritual lead in his marriage, and he followed the lead of Eve. The woman was spiritually deceived, and the man passively let the woman lead. If Adam had been the man He was called to be, then He would have rebuked His wife and the serpent that tried to deceive her. He would have used the dominion given him by God over the animals to punish and discipline the serpent. What happened in the garden is exactly what is going on in our society. So, I trace the problem as far back as that. Passive men who follow spiritually deceived women is an ancient problem. It spans every generation of men in every nation. It does not end well, and any man if he gets infatuated with the wrong woman is susceptible to this. There is no man that is immune to this as we all are descendants of Adam.

The remedy given in the Bible is for the man to hold out for a godly woman, and to cling closely to His God. Joseph did it. Proverbs talks about this. Jesus talks about this. The Torah talks about this. A man's character can be seen in what type of woman he pursues. A man must resist the beautiful seductive evil woman. And the men that don't heed this warning are ruined by them. Even the wisest man in the Old Testament, King Solomon, became passive and was overcome by this.

Something else, especially important is Isaiah 3. The subject of the passage is the judgment of a nation. Ironically, it might be one of the most quoted passages by liberals.

And I will make boys their princes, and infants shall rule over them.
-Isaiah 3:4​

We've all heard that in reference to Trump. And I believe there is some truth to that. Trump has shown himself to be an infant at times. But keep reading...

4 And I will make boys their princes,
and infants shall rule over them.
5 And the people will oppress one another,
every one his fellow
and every one his neighbor;
the youth will be insolent to the elder,
and the despised to the honorable.

-Isaiah 3:4-5

Verse 5 certainly is descriptive of today's youth, and college campuses are incubators for that kind of stuff.

Nonetheless, we are a people quite unhappy with the candidates that our own parties put forth. It is interesting in light of Isaiah 3 how a democracy or a republic could be so incapable of producing a candidate the people want. It as if God is capable of carrying out His own judgements even when a people have the power of self-determination.

But if we continue down the passage in Isaiah 3 we see...

My people—infants are their oppressors,
and women rule over them. -Isaiah 3:12

Women ruling over a society is judgment according to the Bible. That is what the Bible teaches. And it is what happens when men become weak and passive like Adam. That is not to say that women cannot do great and valuable things and be great contributors to society. They certainly can, but women ruling is a sign of judgment. It is crystal clear biblically.

Furthermore...

The Lord said:
Because the daughters of Zion are haughty
and walk with outstretched necks,
glancing wantonly with their eyes,
mincing along as they go,
tinkling with their feet,
17 therefore the Lord will strike with a scab
the heads of the daughters of Zion,
and the Lord will lay bare their secret parts.

18 In that day the Lord will take away the finery of the anklets, the headbands, and the crescents; 19 the pendants, the bracelets, and the scarves; 20 the headdresses, the armlets, the sashes, the perfume boxes, and the amulets; 21 the signet rings and nose rings; 22 the festal robes, the mantles, the cloaks, and the handbags; 23 the mirrors, the linen garments, the turbans, and the veils.

24 Instead of perfume there will be rottenness;
and instead of a belt, a rope;
and instead of well-set hair, baldness;
and instead of a rich robe, a skirt of sackcloth;
and branding instead of beauty.
25 Your men shall fall by the sword
and your mighty men in battle.
26 And her gates shall lament and mourn;
empty, she shall sit on the ground.

-Isaiah 3:16-26

Key things to point out here:

*the women are described as haughty with outstretched necks. They are arrogant self-exalting creatures.
*the weak men they rule over will fall in battle and they will be left with nothing but mourning and lamentation.

Why are they judged? Well it says...

For Jerusalem has stumbled,
and Judah has fallen,
because their speech and their deeds are against the Lord,
defying his glorious presence.

For the look on their faces bears witness against them;
they proclaim their sin like Sodom;
they do not hide it.
Woe to them!
For they have brought evil on themselves.

-Isaiah 3:8-9​

They defy God in word and in deed. They proclaim their sin like Sodom with no shame. They arrogantly sin against God without shame. That is why they are judged.

So, back up and look at the big picture @mrhansduck. People make choices that affect their destiny. People make real decisions every single day to arrogantly spit in the face of the God that has never done anything but treat them better than they deserve to be treated. And it is a long series of daily choices that leads to a people being judged.

So, I disagree with your assessment that we simply subconsciously play a part. No, on the contrary we quite consciously do the things we do knowing that they are wrong. We are not puppets playing a part. That is a misrepresentation. We make decisions from the heart, which a puppet does not do.

 

Whining about how unfair the world is, is never a good strategy. There have been differences between men and women since the beginning of time. Some of those benefit men, some of those benefit women.

I generally think it's easier if you have a son to teach them how to attract a mate: stay in decent to good shape, maintain proper hygiene, and be ambitious and have a career you care about. The rest is just your ps and qs, values, and virtues.

As a man, you can control ALL of that. Women only have so much control over how they look, and men typically care more about how a woman looks than vice versa.

 

As a UF alum, my suggestion is having a couple shots of liquid courage.

 

More extremely underrated dating advice, and general friend-making advice is have hobbies and passions, improve yourself, and people will follow. Anything outside of sports and politics is a huge plus. Nobody likes those things.

Would they? According to you they would be bad at it.

 

Murder and war are not the same thing. Men are blessed with greater size and strength compared to most women, and that helps with physical conflicts and combat. Jesus said, though, that murder comes from the heart. Women possess hearts with the same capacity for murder that men do. Where there is a will to commit a murder, a woman can find a way. She might use different means due to her natural disadvantage relative to men, but plenty of women still go to jail for murder.

 

Murder and war are the same thing, its just a legalistic distinction, and I dont think size and strength has mattered much in combat since rifles were invented. You should also check out the average size and weight (about 5'8'' and 144lbs) of a GI in WWII, not very big!

 

Thank you for the response. I am not a Christian but would have a very hard time disagreeing with you regarding the different roles for men and women reflected in the Bible. As to the last parts of your post, I may have misunderstood what I thought to be your view about pre-destination and things having already been planned out.

I didn’t say they wouldn’t murder (albeit on a radically lower level than men do). WAR, however, is exclusively fought by men against other men for bullshit reasons men create. Even wars fought out of necessity/self defense are done so to protect people from - you guessed it - other tribes of violent MEN. There would not be war if men did not exist. Full stop.

 

I think when this post is taken in the context of "taking things slow," "small talk," "getting to know the person," it is completely accurate.

But I have just never really seen a relationship evolve from years of friendship well into adulthood becoming romantic. Either the feelings were always there on both ends and there were just obstacles in the way, or someone dramatically changed.

I definitely believe there is some truth to the "friend zone" and "nice guys finish last," but they're both definitely overstatements. Those are the kind of things you say to someone who lacks confidence or is too nice so they can get their act together, not an arrogant jerk so they can be more of an arrogant jerk. It's not a death sentence being in the friend zone and you're not woman-repellent if you're a nice guy, but life is about balance. You don't want to wait too long to show a girl you're interested otherwise that sends all sorts of bad messages like insecurity or lack of confidence. You also don't want to be too nice to the point where people walk all over you, otherwise they won't respect you.
