I'm still surprised that he is our first first team all American.

 

The guy is so good in crunch time.

 

He's been our leading scorer the past 6 games. Ole Miss, last game of the regular season, EVERY game in the SEC tournament, and now both games in the NCAAs.
THAT is a really, REALLY good sign for March. One of the VERY common marks of a championship team is a star guard that takes over the team and leads them when the postseason comes. Somebody who was really, really good all season, but just takes it to another level when the postseason comes.
And when everything else is failing, he can just do all the scoring himself for a couple stretches to carry the team.

 

Neil Walk would have been except for that Lew Alcindor guy. I wonder what ever happened to him. You'd think he would be an NBA great.

I came here to post something interesting about Clayton that you can see in your summary above. The first game UConn won in the 2023, that started their 13 straight wins, was against Iona and Clayton. The above is incorrect because it was the first game, round of 64, not 32. Either way, payback is a b_tch!

 

The Athletic says BetMGM has Clayton at #2 likely MOP. +600 vs. Flagg at +300. It says KenPom has him at #3 Player of the Year. It also says "With Florida arguably the still the team to beat in this year's Dance..."
