Billy's statement when hired will be his undoing. You can't promise to be a gambler and then never gamble. Going for 2 last night wasn't even that risky. He literally has nothing to protect. I suppose when he made the statement he was simply projecting to cover his usual tendencies.Happens all the way.

Losing will be his undoing, people thinking this scared money thing is clever or relevant in any way will be this board's undoing.

Kind of like watching his post game press conferences, I have no more stomach for analyzing his psyche.

He is a proven loser at this level. That is undeniably evident. Last night could have marked a change for the better but ALL of the losing tendencies were on full display.

That is all the information needed to know what is necessary.

"Billy" is a fool. We all know that. He doesn't listen to his staff, he doesn't self reflect, he embarrasses his players, and is NEVER disappointed with a loss. There's nothing strong about Napier. His players must despise him. It seems somewhat clear he recently implemented more difficult physical practices. Where was Stricklin, his boss, while we were practicing for a league in which we do not play?

“You gotta remain process-oriented” regardless of wins and losses.”

That is why playcalling doesn’t change.

That is why he alternates QBs per series instead of going with the hot hand.

That is why he failed to substitute DJ for the QB sneak.

That is why he cannot let go of the 2 OL coach experiment.

That is why he cannot hire an actual ST coach and used an analyst.

That is why he could not go for 2.

Whatever line of thought has led him to “the process,” he is incapable of changing, adapting, learning, and therefore improving.

Worst head coach UF has had since the 40s. Every single catastrophic failure of his is the direct result of self-inflicted wounds.

I’m convinced that this is something he read on a fortune cookie and decided to use it in a half time interview to show em how tough he is…

Easy to say now. I was so relieved when Napier decided not to go for two. Winning in OT was unlikely, sure. Not converting that two was a certainty, though.

You never go for overtime when you're are on the road against a top ten team with an inconsistent offense who is hot as fire for the moment and you have literally nothing to lose.

Usually, I agree. But I just knew in the depths of my soul that if we went for two it would be an epic failure. Seeing that they lined up for a cute trick play confirmed this. Or so I screamed at length toward the television ...

Everything Billy proclaimed to be, he’s not. Either he’s delusional or he just upsold the heck out of himself.

Analytical? Nope, in fact he goes anti analytics often.

    Disciplined? Absolutely not

    Detail oriented? Haha

Physical? He just learned intense practices are good

Aggressive? He’s allergic to air yards. He’s the king of behind the LOS passes

He has a total misconception of process. With process you can be analytical, strategic, tactical, etc. The best people on the planet incorporate that in their process

Billy views process as a rigid set plan that he’s going to follow no matter what. That’s not process, that’s suicide

It’s like when Michael Scott drove the car into the lake because the GPS said so. The “process” is to follow the GPS no matter what, incorporating zero new information.

The opposite of scared money and an ode to SOS would for Napier to go for two out of the Emory and Henry formation, despite Tennessee calling timeout. I am sure they had no idea what to do other than having the crowd in the end zone scream. If Lagway and the team had meaningfully practiced it at all, we would have won.

Going for two was an absolute no brainer. UF had 10 points off 5 red zone trips, UT had 10 points off 2 trips. Billy opted into what is essentially a red zone offense competition in OT. Of course he made the worse possible decision, it was inevitable.

Going for two on the road at that time was definitely the call to make. Win it or lose it right there. I knew when it got to OT that we weren't going to win. We had our opportunities in the first half to crush them and let them stay in the game to win it in overtime. It was like watching us against Georgia before Spurrier got to UF in 1990. We'd dominate uga, but not score, and they'd come back to beat us by a small margin.

We could have gotten lucky for three yards. We literally have 0% chance out creating more offense over a series of 25-yard offensive possessions. This was one of the most brain-dead decisions of this coaching regime and that’s saying a lot.

He has absolutely no feel for the games. When he should be conservative he tries something tricky like a jet sweep with 4 inches to go on 4th down when is 240 lb QB is in the game. He runs a QB sneak inside the one on 1st down with the QB that isn't as physical, yet runs his RB right into the line virtually every first down. That was when he should've run the RB into the line all three downs. Both were disasters and cost us at a minimum of 6 pts. Those 6 points would've been the difference in regulation.
