It is hard to say what may have played out.

Perhaps the new govt would have lead to a more moderate form of Islamic democratic governance that would have spread elsewhere.

Perhaps the socialist leaning government would have been more sympathetic to the Soviets and have been more aggressive at using their oil resources against us

perhaps they go the direction of Venezuela and incompetently run their oil resources into the ground.

Perhaps they go the direction of Egypt in the Arab spring.

 

Although I don't like to block posters, I have started doing so for every poster who supports/defends Trump; and who responds with a funny or come on man emoji to a serious post. I want to read and consider serious content, not such crap as this post.

No, we don't know. But what we do know is we helped overthrow a democracy so we could put in place an autocratic government that was better for Britain's oil interests and that led to a revolution and the shit show we have today.

 

Even before then, there is strong Persian remembrance of Russia, Britain and only then the US (in #3 position), acting imperialist, in regard to the railroad to Russia in the WWI era.

It is one of three examples I commonly cite (there are doubtless many others I am ignorant of societal historical memory that the US is ignorant of. The other two are the fact that Bonapartism still scars the European mind only a but less than Naziism, and the hatred (and fear) of Japanese atrocities in Korea and China and other parts of SE Asia, which is fresh to this day.

Its not hiding. I've been reading, watching and listening to their deranged view of America so long that I've had enough. Come on man and funny - which are essentially insults, and almost never accompanied by comment - add zero to discourse, nor do two sentence sarcasms.
