Glad somebody picked up on that. BTW, did you know that Washington had a cold so his doctors bled him to death ? Science!
Early reports suggest attack was a nothingburger. Interesting to see how Iran will respond. It had earlier vowed to respond “X 10” if Israel retaliated. If taken literally, that would amount to 3,000 drones and missiles compared to the earlier 300 that overwhelmed Israel’s vaunted “Iron Dome” and cost Israel upwards of $2 billion.
A little known fact confirmed by the former president and probably a factor in the success of the Continental Army's capture of airbases during the Revolutionary War. President Trump Said Revolutionary War Troops 'Took Over the Airports' in Fourth of July Speech
Iran didn't overwhelm Israeli's air defenses which include its Arrow I and Arrow II systems as well as its Sling of David system and most likely Patriot Missiles although it and its client Hezbollah could probably do so. That being said Israeli's goal was more to send a message to Iran that it is vulnerable to attack rather to inflict massive damage. Although damage from last night's attack was intentionally minimal next time if there is a next time the result could very well be the destruction of the Iranian airbase near Isfahan, its missile production facilities in the same vicinity and severe damage to facilities housing its nuclear program also in the vicinity.
Iran did indeed overwhelm Israel’s vaunted “Iron Dome.” It’s slow-flying drones and older cruise missiles served to “light up” Israel’s defense grid and it’s second tier ballistic missiles hit the targets Iran intended to strike, specifically the air bases and communications centers from which Israel initiated the murder strike on the Iranian consulate in Damascus.
Various Western sources the most recent of which is former U.S. Assistant Secretary of Defense Chas Freeman … And here’s a write-up by a British OSINT … Iran Breaches Anglo-Zionist Defenses in Historic Attack: A Breakdown
Israel reportedly expended half of its loaded missiles, upwards of $2 billion dollars worth, intercepting cheap drones and older cruise missiles while Iran’ ballistic missiles struck their intended targets.
I thought the U.S. shot almost all of the Iranian drones down? Again, not doubting you, but wow aren't we getting some totally different versions?
I can believe they shot down almost all of the drones and slow moving cruise missiles which were expended in order to tie up Israel’s AD freeing up its ballistic missiles to strike the only Israeli assets Iran intended to hit. It was a carefully orchestrated demonstration” to Israel following at least 72 hours prior warning and discussions with the U.S. Here’s how it went down … Iran launches its drones and telegraphed to the world “Here come the drones!” Then they launch their cruise missiles and broadcasts “Here come the cruise missiles!” Then they don’t announce the ballistic missiles …
