OK, I am surprised I even have to say it, but let me give you the solution. You que up something super gay or really just anything that wingers are afraid of, on your phone browser. Could even be a saved photo. Just anything that is a visual, although motion and corresponding audio are even more effective. Cartoons are the most obvious. But it can be litter boxes, books that aren’t the Bible, any part of the Constitution except the 2A, Obama (playing basketball preferably, that stone kills a whole flock), Bud Light, an election ballot, anyone with pink hair…I mean it is almost anything, although you don’t want something that requires any extra effort to induce outrage. Sometimes they have to think for a few minutes to conjure up how any particular image is en existential evil that can’t be resisted. Those extra minutes could make all the difference. Anyway, as soon as one of them starts in with the InfoWars screeching, just flash that image right into their sightline. Instant victim, self-chosen. They will now be whatever that thing represents to them. They will not be able to function in any capacity. They will also be shunned by society, including by themselves, full Clayton Bigsby. Critical note: If it isn’t a known phenomenon, like, say, Anderson Cooper, DO NOT try to figure out exactly why whatever image you used caused this catastrophic system failure. It is quite likely that there is no logical explanation. While it’s not terribly dangerous per se to ponder the “threat” of a recycling bin, it is simply a wasteful use of resources and in that case a massive victory for irony.
My kids are way too old now, thankfully. My niece watches that show and it is the most annoying show ever lol. I also have heard people talk about its addictive nature, but thats pretty much any kids show. I was unaware of the political stuff. Just thankful my kids are into avengers movies at this point.
Side note, my wife started her career teaching at that school. She left long before all of that, but it is a very good school. Silly dress code notwithstanding. Also, Female staff did not have to wear skirts.
I would likely have never watched a single MCU movie if it weren't for my kids (and Covid). So glad I did, they're legitimitely good movies.
The problem with crap like this is it just perpetuates the message that gender is a choice and ends up confusing kids - true non gender conforming is a very small percentage yet if you watch stuff like this it seems like this type of stuff is the norm.
Wearing a dress is a choice no matter what gender you are. What does a kid putting on a dress in an act of play have to do with any of that?
I’m old enough to remember the left editing out the revolver that Yukon Cornelius had on his hip in the violently graphic and triggering 1964 Rudolph the red nose reindeer. Don’t remember any of the arguments they are making today about cocomelon being made about how innocuous a cartoon is for kids.
I think there's a valid argument here, but I'm not sure a short clip of one song from a show with a bazillion songs is a large enough data set to point to what you're describing. One song with a kid's parents singing for him to do what brings him joy just seems to me more about encouraging play without judgment. If it's a pervasive and repeat theme throughout the season with this boy wearing girls' clothes, I'd be more inclined to agree with you. But I suspect this "anti-woke" tweeter only included this one clip with part of one song for specific and obvious motives.
Any parent who puts up with their kid watching cocomelon deserves whatever happens to them, because that show is awful, even by toddler standards. I watched about 4 minutes of an episode and that was the last time that shit was ever on in my house.
Are you saying the account that posted a picture of the proposed Minnesota flag and an obscure flag of a Somalian state side by side and said "see" just because Ilhan Omar lives there might have an agenda?
100%. It's easy to make the "cramming it down our throats" argument by just lifting one clip from everyshow. It's just like the declining morality thread: perception v reality. I'd be interested in seeing data. What percentage of time are these types of things shown? Break it down by show, by genre, by time of day, by channel, etc. I did find this on a quick search: 11.8% of characters on US Broadcast shows are LGBTQ. That's about a 50% over-representation of self identified LGBTQ (7.1%) in the US. Does this constitue throat cramming? I don't know. To some I'm sure it does. Would the vocal opponents be quieted if characters were proportionately represented on the screen? I think that would be the most just way to approach this.
You’re a stronger man than me. She’s grown out of it but my now 4 year old used to love that shit. So bad. But still better than Blippi.
Well, coincidentally Blippi was the other show I banned in our house. I was warned by friends ahead of time. I also got lucky my son has liked watching baseball and hockey since he was like 2.5 years old.
Don't tell anyone but he wore an FSU shirt under his Gator hoodie during that game. His FSU grad mom was pleased.
