Any UGA loss is a good thing imo, irregardless of circumstances.

As I said, I get why some folks don't like him. He's not lining up for sainthood, but he can coach. I see you didn't respond to his actual coaching record.

Absolutely agree. Really dumbfounded how many can't see he would be a great fit here and would bring a lot of excitement

If winning was the only thing I guess. Integrity matters to some though.

But it’s not going to happen. They will be completely outclassed in the trenches.

He has clearly improved... but I wouldn't ever want him representing UF. There is a wild chasm between sainthood and an immoral douche. If he is acceptable to you, then so be it.

If you don’t think cheating on his wife with students is a problem , I don’t know about you. Maybe you didn’t know?

It has nothing to do with coaching. Perhaps you don’t mind him representing you?

I guess that does make him a douchebag. But I'm not all worked up about coaches personal lives. Urban got caught grinding up on a coed and I don't think his popularity suffered too much from it.

He’s pretty much had his personal reputation hit rock bottom.

Maybe so. But to each his own. The relationship between a man and a wife or two consenting adults is none of my business.
Here are some coaches I feel stepped over the line during their time:
Bobby Bowden: Writing a letter for leniency for former player Michael Gibson who raped and shot a woman in the head.
Brian Kelly: Who put winning above the safety of a student assistant and sent him up on a crane to film during a storm. When it was blown over, he died.
Art Briles: Who hid and protected a culture of rape amongst his players for years.

So you make excuses for folks with no integrity. Gotcha.

No. I just don’t presume to judge them if they aren’t hurting anyone.

Kiffin has grown a lot since the days of being hated, which he fully deserved.

First, Skink is right (yes, I said it). Comparing Lane to SOS is ludicrous. But comparing ANYBODY to SOS is ludicrous! Guy won a heisman here, comes back to lead us to our first SEC championshipS!, and then to a nattie. Funny as hell along the way. What school has EVER had that. Those of us who live it should thank the gods of college football, but to measure coaches against it is dumb.

As for Lane, who thought making him a HC of the raiders at 38 was a good idea? Was he a douche? Absolutely. Do I mind a brash coach who wins and does not embarrass us? No. Would he be capable of that at this age? Worth contemplating. To me, Bowden is MUCH worse than Lane ever was, but I would damn sure want to make sure I understand the full package if I hired him. Recruiting and integrity would be the questions, as I do not think winning would be a problem (and, yes, to me both recruiting and integrity matter - 1 voice). Not sold on Lane but would not rule him out.

As for this game, anybody but UGA…..

The difference between Kiffin at TN and Kiffin at MS is much like the difference between moonshine and whiskey. I can like the latter at times.

The only teams that have a good chance to beat GA are those that are physical enough to control both LOSs. I don't see MS doing that.

I think he turned down Auburn so he would be available for the Elephants, no way in hell they hire Auburns coach.
