They don't just come to the US. There are a lot of undocumented Haitians in the Bahamas as well. For the small island in the Bahamas that I visit almost all of the construction workers speak Creole

Of all the things that can grind your gears this ain’t it. In my former life I worked for the Big green P and I managed the grocery dept at the time. Someone would call out I would call my Haitian employees first because they would always bail me out of jam. Had another dept asked them to bag they’d do it too. Yeah they took vacations to visit family in Haiti, so what? I took vacations to visit my family in Honduras and Puerto Rico (I’m sure I’ll be tickled to death on your views on them)

Interestingly enough, the Bahamas are also a jumping off point for migrant trafficking. They arrested a guy last week for trafficking in the Indian River. He brought about 20 migrants in on an offshore fishing boat from the Bahamas and came through the Sebastian Inlet. Crazy

    Here’s another one:

FWC officers stop vessel with multiple illegal Haitian immigrants, guns, drugs and night vision equipment near Sebastian Inlet

Damn it’s hard just being right on just about everything. For those here on the left it must get old always being wrong.

But just nice little Haitians wanting a better life right? Then why bring the guns and firearms? Why bring drugs? DeSantis better be prepared, Florida is under attack. Haitians are going to try to invade Central Florida and South Florida just like they did after the 2010 Earthquake. THIS CANNOT BE ALLOWED TO HAPPEN!!

I’ll support DeSantis in any way to stop this. If we need to shut down all ocean and water access to Florida that’s okay. I would also prohibit any cruise ship from docking in Florida if their current cruise has stopped in Labadee, Haiti. Make sure every port container coming into a Florida port is stripped down to ensure no illegal Haitians are smuggling themselves into Florida.

If some do get into the state immediately pay for them to get up to New York, Chicago or DC. Democrats could care less about the Haitians, they just want their vote in November. They just want to try to flip a state like Florida blue and they know they can't do that with the current Florida population.

We refuse to continue to be the Caribbean’s dumping ground!!

Exactly! And thank you for understanding. I understand there are exceptions in every group, but I think my experiences with Haitians is valid.

As you said this is from 7 years, not a handful of interactions. I know you asked how many Haitians I interacted with during that time as part of my job.

While I don’t have a truly accurate count I would easily say my experience comes from various interaction with probably at least 2,000 Haitians.Every week I would easily have interactions with between 60 and 85 Haitians. So we aren’t talking a small amount here. And yes because of the amount I do believe it gives me more insight into the situation in Haiti than most other people here have.

Maybe the issues with your interactions wasn't on the side of the Haitains.

Oh it was. I even had coworkers telling me I was being too nice and that I shouldn’t let them disrespect me like I was. After a few years I understood what they meant and toughened up. But it wasn’t me, some of them were just downright nasty.

I’m okay with another infusion of Haitians. I’d like to see the New Yorkers stopped though.

Wow why don't you just say it. You're okay with immigrants as long as they vote the right way. More importantly, you're okay with immigrants as long as they aren't white.

Let's say it wasn't Haiti in crisis. Let's say it was Norway or Sweden in crisis and a bunch of them were coming here over illegally. I bet suddenly you would be all for border security, especially if there was a good chance they would be voting for Republicans.

I'm no big fan of New Yorkers either and wish the New Yorkers would stay up there. But the fact is they add far more to the Florida economy than Haitians do. They are far less likely to commit crimes and any money they earn will stay in the U.S. and not just be funneled immediately back to Haiti.

You just basically said you only like immigrants as long as they are non-white and therefore more likely to vote Democrat. Thanks for confirming that people like you could care less and that for you those people are nothing more than potential votes. Just like how politicians like Biden or Clinton conveniently only go to black churches every 4 years. Such arrogance and such hypocrisy.

That vote Democrat thing might not work out. I work with a Haitian man. Who is a huge Trump supporter. A lot of them despise the Clintons. I vaguely know a Haitian surgeon. We're not close I just know him socially. I've been to his house for a couple of parties. It wasn't in a slum.
