Colorado State updated its forecast to predict 4 major hurricanes, more likely in the Atlantic basin




FEMA funding is expected to run out by August/September absent a supplemental


FEMA’s most recent estimate shows the agency is expected to run out of money in August and run up a $10 billion deficit by the end of September.

While FEMA could get a nearly $20 billion cash infusion in a typical “anomaly” in stopgap funding legislation that lawmakers would need to pass by Sept. 30, that may be too late with hurricane season approaching.

Strangely enough, CSU has been the standard in hurricane forecasting for years. The forecasts carry perhaps the most weight of any. Not sure how that began; I agree it seems incongruous

 

Don’t ignore the deterrent effect. Speaking only for myself, I always fill out the documentation for any class I am part of, even if I only receive the typical approximate $5 payout, because I don’t want the tortfeasor to benefit from imposing hurdles. These lawsuits are one of the only avenues to potential accountability in an era of legalized bribery and normalized official corruption.

That's roughly Dr. Lucy Jones' joke when people ask her to predict earthquakes as a leading seismologist. She will boldly predict at least 2-3 "imminent" powerful earthquakes (> 7.5) in California. Then she will explain that in geologic time, "imminent" is around 10,000 years, and of course you cant predict location
