The Gators appear to be keeping a friendly and tight locker room with continuity. Some folks did not buy in and have departed. New blood is rolling in through great recruiting and smart use of the portal, all who have bought into the overriding goal.

Obviously, this component is highly important to CBN. Several outstanding athletes with tattered backgrounds have approached CBN. I am one who believes that if CBN can complete his due diligence on these prospects, and determine that they are willing to place the goal of the team over their personal interests, then they should be given a chance.

I am reminded of the story of Michael Fay, who was publicly caned in 1994 in Singapore for numerous acts of violence and vandalism. I have a friend, who has spent his lengthy career in numerous places around the world. His daughters were in the same school as Michael Fay in Singapore at the time of his shenanigans and caning. Suffice it to say that the entire Ex-Pat community in Singapore was well aware that Mr. Fay was guilty of many more acts of vandalism together with acts of much greater magnitude than charged.

Today Michael Fay is happy and living the life. While not stated directly in this article, Mr. Faye readily admits that the "caning incident" ultimately gave him the direction that was necessary to get him moving the right direction:

24 Years After His Caning, Michael Fay Has A Beard And Is A Casino Manager

Accordingly, I would suggest that if CBN has done his due diligence and believes that any one of these highly talented but edgy figures can be restored, give them a chance.

Wow! A Singapore caning reference on Gator Country. I had forgotten all about that incident and the Weird Al parody. :p

There is nothing wrong with allowing folks to repent. The issue is when do you know they have? I think this is about Cormani and it all feels too early. Enabling isn't the same as a second (or third) chance.

They say that Urban won by taking a chance on a few bad boys in locker room. Percy comes to mind with trouble in HS and in college. Aaron H was rumored to have some challenges. Carlos D a sleep in car behind wheel drunk one night. Some drug use by others …. Don’t know if you can win it all with choir boys. UGA has their issues now as well.

Gators should keep a higher standard than winning it all with uga type issues.

Meyer had issues with players. Tebow's presence made issues recede.

Any 85 kids has a few. Keeping the proper leadership is the trick. Have the majority lead the dipshits to a better place.

Whenever something like this Cormani incident happens I will tend to trust the head coaches judgement. (Until they pull a Bowden and create a circus). As long as he, his teammates, and the coaching staff are on the same page I’m good.

There was a similar incidence very early in Spurrier’s time where he leaned and let Tony McCoy back on the team. That one worked out great for both for us and for Tony’s future.

There are no sinners without a future or saints without a past.

Meyer had no moral compass. He was and most likely will always be obsessed with winning and will do anything to or with anyone to get there. That is not a healthy combination. Tebow’s leadership did cover up many, many issues.

This is not all or nothing. I’ve taken several chances with people, a couple of them at risk to myself. The ones where I had skin in the game both worked out well. Those two guys knew I was the only reason they were still getting a paycheck. Both turned themselves around. I was 3-1 on the others.

The key word in the above post is continuity.
The last two years under Mullen and the first year of Napier saw a slew of Gators come and go. Keeping the team together over the course of four years is a key ingredient in building a team. The members of the team will; trust each other, compete very hard against each other, and build and pull each other up. Hopefully this is going on now and will continue to do so. The results will show up on the field on game days.

AgingGator said it: Our image would have been considerably different during Meyer’s years if it weren’t for #15.

And, there's a huge difference between a cane, singular, and canes, plural. One helps keep others upright and the other isn't worth a sheet!!!

You are free to do whatever you wish, Wanne! But, is it expeditious?

Don't know why somebody disagreed with this, maybe accidentally hit the wrong smiley?
