If they can get Trump, they can get anyone. Damn straight! Nobody, and I mean nobody should be above the law. Commit a crime, get caught, get convicted by a jury of your peers is how our system was designed to work. And it worked today.

The 12 jurors are true patriots. They didn't care who the defendant was. The only cared about the law and facts presented to them. 12, regular citizens decided the fate of a former President. How is that not the most American, democratic thing ever?

 

Yep, that took courage to convict him. Knowing full well that their identities may come out and that the maga mob may threaten them and their families ( possibly worse). They did not do this lightly. Curious as to what legal system the Trumpists would prefer to the one we have now? Perhaps an old school " court" where the emperor or king is the sole dispenser of " justice".

 

Nobody on the left wants to jail anyone without a crime and conviction befitting prison. Stop making stuff up. Trump promised to lock up Hillary, even though she never commuted a crime - but he couldn’t, of course, because that’s not how the legal system works. Most of his crimes didn’t work because the government and even his hand-picked cabinet were not full of criminals who were willing to break the law, let alone end democracy for him.

However, Trump has promised not only to be a dictator from day 1, but to fire ALL the govt lifers and replace them with alt-right loyalists (many of them literal Nazis like Stephen Miller), who will NOT stop him from breaking every law and ending democracy. It’s not a theory - he’s said it out loud constantly. It’s literally written down in Project 2025.

Nobody believed PNAC, either, despite it being all written down, but they invaded and indefinitely occupied Afghanistan and Iraq and stole all the money and resources they could. Just like they said in writing that they would.

When people tell you who they are…believe them.

 

You and I have very different worldviews. So, we are going to approach this very differently.

However, waiting it out is the best thing IMO. The first reason this is true is you need to admit you are a very small person in a nation of 340 million people. It might give you hope to believe you can make a difference, but you really can't. Go vote, and don't let worry live in your head rent free. If you are going to hope in something, then it needs to be real. If your hope is in a fictious reality you have convinced yourself of, then you set yourself up for disappointment and crisis.

So, if we are not in control, then who is? God is. Empires rise and fall on His command. Civilizations rise and fall upon His command. Kings and rulers rise and fall on his command. So, why would He allow our political situation to get as bad as it is? It very well could be a way to grab our attention and get us to examine ourselves and how we are living before God. Maybe because our nation spits in God's face, we have a pathetic government. Maybe our own personal sins could be motivating God's judgment on us.

So, the way forward in hard times is acknowledging our role in these things. We don't deserve a good government. Good things only come by the grace of God. So we must humble ourselves and make sure we are walking right with God. Then we can have assurance of all the promises of Christ. We know there is a day appointed for evil to be judged. We know that the mockers and the scoffers will run their mouths, but we know with confidence that evil never wins. Evil always swallows up those who do not repent of it, and things we would not wish on our worst enemy will happen to those who do not repent of it.

Saying that will not dissuade a stiff necked person, a mocker, a scoffer, or even blasphemer of God, but it is certain that evil will always self-destruct and swallow up those body and soul who do not repent of it.

Godless political agendas will self-destruct. It is guaranteed. It is certain because God's word is truer than anything there is. The victory is guaranteed. If we follow the Lord Jesus Christ the walls of Jericho will fall because godlessness is doomed for destruction. If we don't, then we show we are citizens of the godless city and we will perish with it.

So, figure out your citizenship. Being a conservative does not mean you are a Christian. Many a conservative will perish with the godless city, but if your citizenship is in heaven with Christ, then you know the victory is certain.

You, and people like you, vote for and defend as the President of the United States a man whose track record over an entire lifetime is one of fraud, selfishness, crime, racism and deceit. And a "political party" whose sole function is now to defend such criminality.

So you are absolutely correct; YOU do not deserve a good government. Hopefully you, and those like you, can take this a step forward and CEASE being advocates for fraud and criminality.......so that those of us who DO deserve a good government can have one.

As a federal employee, I’ll go to work today just like I have done the past 39 years in order to protect the freedoms the loonies have to post nonsense threads on social media.

 

The best part is juror #2 was a big time right winger apparently who got their news sources from Truth Social and Fox News and even they couldn’t dispute the overwhelming evidence presented on this case.

If the Republicans would actually nominate a somewhat moderate conservative, I think they'd win this election. Perhaps easily. But some are so tied to Trump and others are afraid to anger them.
