I'm sick and tired of YouTube TV

I subscribe to YouTube TV since cutting the cable. Half the time it works okay, but half the time now I have to sign in before I can watch television. I have to go to my computer and enter a code from the TV screen before I can watch TV, or another treat is having to text in my Google account, letter by letter, on the TV screen before I can watch.

I’m sick of it. Can someone recommend a streaming service that offers as much as YouTube TV without having to sign in to watch? The other alternative is to stop watching TV altogether.

Weird. We haven't had to sign into ours in 3 years we've had it. Might be a setting issue. We love ours.

Yeah, that's some kind of issue with your Smart TV, streaming box or wifi. You'd likely have the same problem with any streaming service.

Hulu live just jumped to $89. It's no longer cheaper to cut the cord if you want live sports. Looks like I'm just gonna go back to cable

I bought a Roku TV when I cut the cable. I wonder if the city will pick it up if I leave it by the curb.

That's about what YouTube TV is now. I was paying about $100 more than that for cable TV with AT&T U-verse. That's saving some money, but....

The problem is likely the Roku, or potentially your wifi. Seems likely yttv is unable to authenticate with the servers. Thus the repeated login requests.

I'd try updating the yttv app or uninstalling and reinstalling the app on your Roku. I may try restarting or even resetting my Roku device first.

I stream and I miss the hell out of cable. So easy to use/navigate.

Even Gator Country has that auto detect/password feature. But I never use it.

Yeah with my internet and hulu/youtube tv you're at like $160 minimum anyway.

Yeah, even when signed in, with streaming there's so much rigamarole to go through just to get where you want.

Cable knows this, which is why it can make you pay through the nose.

Odd I have had YouTubeTv for a couple of years now. Have not needed to sign back in since the first time.

Maybe a setting in your tv or the app itself?

Right there with you coco. YouTube TV sounded real good on Labor Day Weekend but the reality of their user interface is that it sucks

With Roku, all the apps stay up to date. I would also disable the smarttv Wi-Fi access.

That payment through the nose is looking like a pretty good value right now.

Maybe where I live is just weird, but I was averaging 2-3 service calls a year with cable (and paying stupid fees for extra boxes just to be able to have more than one TV), cant say I miss that aspect

Good to know. Still, sometimes a fresh start fixes strange issues.

If he's running a dynamic vpn, that could maybe be causing it?

Coco- does it ever ask you about your locatoin?

A cable internet bundle is cheaper at this point with promos.
