I don't suspect he's a troll. I'm thinking he is being inundated by bad arguments from SWAC friends, and he's looking for material to present in return. Go GATORS! ,WESGATORS
You might be right. But his post count was relatively new when he posted this, and his systemic knowledge of FSU-stats coupled with his vociferous defense of all-things FSU (and wholesale rejection of the Committee following their actual rules), has made me a strong skeptic. But, to your point, I have no idea if he is a troll or just an ardent believer that FSU was mistreated.
Only a troll would keep arguing against facts and stats that don't align with his agenda and betray his arguments.
With the cancelation of the OB PC with Kirby, due possibly to fit of pique in SOWahasse, it appears they have no need of my pity. They have more than enough for themselves already.
Whining that they didn't get in is understandable, but not their reasoning. Everything other than the undefeated record says they don't deserve to be there. Unless the rules require an undefeated conference champion to be in, and they don't, it is what it is. And the rules don't say all you have to be is undefeated. Their conference commissioner is to blame more for their exclusion than the committee, because if he had been in favor of expanding the number from 4 to 12 this season, fsu would be able to get curb stomped in the playoffs instead of in the Orange bowl. The committee followed the parameters and picked who they thought were the 4 best teams.
Kid doesn't want to be part of the upcoming curb stomping coming soon. 2024 NFL Draft: Florida State WR Johnny Wilson declares, to skip Orange Bowl vs. Georgia
Like so many have said already, if you add that the ACC shot down the 12-team format back in 2021-22, it's FSU's fault for staying with a C-USA kind of conference that is afraid of the SEC. I know they didn't like that the SEC was getting more money from ESPN, but then again, THE SEC IS AKIN TO THE NBA AND THE ACC IS AKIN TO THE WNBA. The SEC earns more money than the ACC - the SEC is filet mignon to the ACC's tofu. You want red meat, stay with the SEC or go vegan with the ACC. Plain and simple - the ACC cried like a baby back in Jan 2022 and they are crying now. But still, had there been a 12-team format this year, FSU would be playing Liberty and I would spot Liberty 6 points - FSU is the underdog. If FSU somehow wins that one, then it's Mizzou most likely and Mizzou would definitely beat them. Mizzou has a pretty good defense to handle FSU's offense.
I do. Virtually every post he makes about the Gators, while trying to sound like a loyalist, is negative in some way. Even his positive posts are somehow a backhanded compliment while the gist is negative. He rarely, if ever says anything negative about fsu, other than "I don't like them...", then he immediately goes to go to bat for them. If he isn't a troll, he's missed his calling.
Below is an excerpt from the Bowl Schedule I copied from another post. Clemson and FSU saw the "handwriting on the wall" this summer and the schedule below is just the exclamation point to that handwriting. For the 5 games played on Jan 1st, only one team below will not be in the Big10 or the SEC next year - Liberty who was the group of 6 automatic qualifier for being highest ranked. For the ten games played on or after 8 pm on Dec 29, only four teams will not be in the Big10 or SEC next year (FSU, Wyoming, Toledo and Liberty). That means 80% of the teams in the last 10 bowl games (minus the championship) will come from the Big10 or SEC. Back to the original question: Do I feel sorry for them? No, they made their bed, now they have to lie in it. They chose the ACC when they could have come to the SEC. With that said .... As much as I hate FSU, I see them and Clemson working to make their jump this off-season out of the ACC. I would rather have them join the SEC than the Big10. Just my $0.02 worth.
