And those rules were in place for as long as there has been a College Football Playoff.

Bama slugged through their ugly games with their starting quarterback, the same can't be said about FSU when they came to the Swamp.

By your logic quality wins only count when they favor your position. Bama had more quality wins than fsu. Plus, their only loss was a quality loss. When was the last time fsu had a quality win? All things aren't created equal, and the ACC was far from equal to any P5 conference. You think it's a sham that fsu got left out even though they are undefeated, but want to penalize Bama for actually playing an out of conference quality opponent.

Actually, Bama didn't settle on a starting QB until a few games into the season as Milroe got benched.

I like your post, but disagree re: FSU. They didn't make the playoff because their resume was not as good as that of the Tide. If the two teams met on a neutral field with Travis, which team would be favored and why?
As many have pointed out, at least one team was going to be left out this year. If that had been Alabama after the slate they played and after having defeated GA, the snub would have been worse and the outcry just as loud if not louder.

To your final point, I agree. CFB just ain't the same and saying so is not just a matter of "back in my day" mumbo jumbo. The game is very rapidly becoming less enjoyable due to transfer rules, NIL, portal and recruiting circuses/troll jobs.

Come on now, this year's SEC was not like a normal SEC year. The conference this year had one of the worst records against other P5 leagues.

And I'm not penalizing Bama for playing a good non-conference opponent. I'm penalizing them for LOSING to them. Are we just not supposed to count the game because Bama lost?

And are you forgetting that FSU played LSU out of conference? Funny enough, when comparing FSU and Bama, LSU is the only common opponent we have to go by, and FSU was far more impressive. I watched that entire game, and likely Heisman winner Jayden Daniels didn't have a single touchdown pass until FSU put their scrubs in in the final minute. That game was 45-17 and I was in disbelief. Bama played that same LSU team in Tuscaloosa and it was much closer and then Jayden Daniels was knocked out of the game and only then was Bama able to pull away.

FSU actually played games, as did Alabama. The diff is that FSU played a mediocre schedule. As for speculation, who do you think would win between Bama and FSU? Would Norvell be able to cook up something special vs. Saban, who obviously cooked up something special vs. GA?

Looks to me like fsu had their fair share of slugouts with their starting QB as well. Bama had more wins against ranked opponents than the acc has teams in the final AP poll, including the top 13 tems.

And yet Bama played and beat as many teams in the top 13 in the AP final poll as the ACC has in the poll.

Funny how we forget 2006. Does anyone remember how mediocre we were on offense the entire regular season? That was not even a top 10 all-time Gator offense. We were slopping through games left and right, and even lost one. No one was giving us a shot to beat Ohio State, and most felt that Michigan deserved in over us, claiming that both would be heavily favored. Guess what? Vegas doesn't decide the outcomes. Thankfully that Fiesta Bowl was actually played!

Mediocre, not even close. Terribly weak schedule with the overall record being the worst of the top 8 teams in consideration for the playoffs. In fact, it was far and away the weakest of all of them.

We also played the toughest schedule in the country, which was testified to the final score of the game agains osu. fsu didn't come close to playing a tough schedule.

And Louisville's best player (the RB) and top receiver played hurt. If it wasn't a championship game they probably wouldn't have even dressed out.

At least one of those teams played a tougher schedule than FSU ;).
What do you think FSU's record would have been if they played Bama's #5 schedule and not their #55 shedule?

    For comparison . . .
    Bama..........FSU
    Georgia........LSU
    Texas...........Louisville
    Ole Miss.......Clemson
    Tennessee....Duke
    LSU.............Virgina Tech

Bama goes four deep before hitting FSU's toughest opponent.

No. Remember a ‘93 WVU team that was one of only two undefeated teams but left out for a one loss FSU. Or ‘04 Auburn undefeated and ranked two and three in the polls but got left out. ‘96 UF/FSU rematch wasn’t supposed to be for a natty but a miracle happened in the rose bowl.

A couple of your recent posts seem to imply that Jordan Travis is going to suit up for the post season. You realize that he's injured and isn't going to play, right? You were already shown the selection criteria which includes evaluation based on key injuries.
