watching the weather channel and reading articles i almost get the feeling some people there are upset there are none so far. maybe it is because they have nothing to talk about or are stuck in studio instead of on the road, anyone else sense this?

I mean, what do you think they are going to talk about on the Weather Channel? They have 24 hours of programming to fill every day!

I’m sure all their weather bros are peeved they can’t stand out in 75 mph winds in skin tight rain gear and give us the local forecast.

It has been a quiet summer so far but we are just entering the peak months when hurricanes start popping. I would have waited until September before posting a thread about where are all the hurricanes.

Don't jinx us. It would be great to have a year off at least. Our insurers and home owners are running out of money.

I have not seen evidence that we will have more tornadoes, for example, due to increasing temperatures. But I don't think anyone disputes that hurricanes are created in warm water. They can't even form when the water is under about 80 degrees. Moreover, higher water temps also provide fuel for strengthening. Of course, there are various other factors as well, and we have cycles. Also, sometimes there are strong storms, but they just don't hit land. But other variables kept constant, it makes sense that increasing temperatures will result in more and stronger hurricanes. Of course, many don't believe the climate is changing or if it is, that we have little impact on it. But I think that's a different argument.

They are super angry because they can't scream about how hurricanes are man made global warming/cooling, climate change, climate crisis or whatever they are calling it these days.
