Follow the Euro, it’s been the best predictor for track for a few years now. Saw somewhere it predicted within 10 miles the landfall of Helene 5 days out. Damn October storms, beasts and monsters.
That’s kinda what we do for all areas prone for natural disasters. California and its fires and earthquakes, the plains with their massive tornadoes. Now some who has built right on the beach in very prone areas perhaps should not be able to rebuild over and over, there are many areas that aren’t really hurricane prone however.

It’s too bad we can’t figure a way to pull cool water from depth to help lower the temp in the loop current. Massive under taking to be sure.
I have been on both sides of this. My advice is don't automatically trust the insurance adjusters, but you also need to be careful with public adjusters or others looking to make a lot of money by inflating a claim.
My company has two facilities in the Tampa area, one in Largo and the other in Tampa. Hopefully they’ll be fine along with all of you that live in the area like Rade.
I can't remember the last time a hurricane formed in the Gulf of Mexico. That seems a bit strange. Stay safe.

Tons!!!! Anything that has been picked up has been done by private contractors. On the coast, the focus has been on getting the sand out of the streets. The Tampa area has been focused on drying out. I just read DeSantis has just activated 4000 guardsmen for debris removal going 24/7 until its no longer safe.
I can post a picture of my friends house. It about 8 ft high 10 ft wide and a hundred feet long. Mostly drywall and furniture.
I really hope folks are taking this serious in West Fl. The way it will be coming in is really scary to me, I could see some massive wave action getting created in front of that ... it is basically going in a straight line across the water for several days.
PC right now. Activating and commandeering every vehicle possible for debris removal. Also every site will be used as debris dumping. basically the state will take your site over. Governor DeSantis Provides Update on Tropical Storm Milton and Disaster Preparedness
