Wonder where we can find a comprehensive list because the Wellington/Loxahatchee tornado is not on here and it was a really bad one. I saw it about a mile behind my house and spoke to a Firefighter afterwards. He told me they were finding people in fields that were ripped from their homes. Said they trauma-hawked 25 people out but that was the people they could find….
I saw some pictures of it. Looked really bad. Car smashed up against a house. Construction dumpster sticking through the roof of a home.
I'm at my sister's in Northdale. Rain has been ridiculous. Water soaking into the house on east side of house despite not being in a flood area. Been playing whack a mole with towels in multiple rooms to keep it at bay. Power went out a couple hours ago so no we cannot dry the damn towels.
Tampa and in particular St. Pete are under an emergency flash flood warning. Between 10 and 14 (16 in St. Pete) inches of rain have fallen in a little over 3 hours. That's about 3 months of rainfall. They are saying to go to higher ground now because the flash floods will start with the water having nowhere to go.
this gauge just upstream of the bay maxed out at 9.5' above tidal and has been falling the last couple of hours Walker Creek Near Sarasota FL - USGS Water Data for the Nation
I saw the pic of that WM dumpster on the roof. That thing probably weighs 4000 lbs empty. That's wild
most areas are too flat to cause flash flooding through accumulation, at least they got that going for them
