We have an 86-year-old friend who lives at the “punta” of Punta Gorda but she refused to leave. I don’t know whether it’s fascination or just stubbornness or what, but I hope she survives. She did move upstairs from her ground floor condo, which will probably be submerged.
Lot of family in the path. My son is in Cape Coral. Obviously, he was gifted with my cerebral deficits and inner cranial deformities as he is still in Cape Coral! If he's alive his home has to be partially submerged. My niece is in Venice. Brother, Lakewood Ranch. Sister boarded up in Navarre and the spared for a change. Spoke to a pal in Naples just before it came ashore... I thought the weather channel dude said there was already 2 ft of rain in Fort Meyers. The storm surge is pretty ridonkulous. I hope the Good Lord keeps the Floridian folks safe. Even the idiots... I guess high ground in Florida is putting a matrass on top of another and waiting it out. Prayers for the Florida homeland. Beware: random fish, Gators and snakes will infiltrate the surge and streets. Go Gators.
What always kills me is these 'news reports' and pressers never really give anyone helpful info. It's more like getting lectured on what to not do and all the bad things they see happening. I mean - we already know all that crap...how about some helpful information for a change! /rant
