You don’t read links and sources that contradict your world view.

Setting aside the $2 billion after Kushner left: remember when the Saudis blockaded Qatar? A country where we have a major middle eastern naval base in Doha? The blockade was lifted. Qataris then bailed out 666 Park, the Kushner family building. Was there a link between the blockade, an agreement to lift it and an investment? Kushner was working in the West Wing. As was Ivanka when she got patents in China. And don’t forget that foreign officials would come to Washington and other places around there world and stay at Trump properties at rack rates instead of their embassies. Money directly to Trump. And then there is the Ukraine call— a direct use of foreign policy for Trump’s personal gain. All ignored and defended by the same posters here who argue Joe Biden is corrupt because Hunter Biden worked and earned revenue fr countries where the US has interests. Which is almost everywhere. Hunter Biden is this years Benghazi. Designed to energize the base and to create a false equivalence between Trump’s criminality and “the Biden family.” As if Now is responsible for the business dealings of his adult children. They throw arrows statements a lot money laundering because they do business from LLCs without identifying the underlying crime for which Hunter is supposedly laundering money. The whole process is designed to appeal to idiots and there are plenty of them. As soon as Trump left office, he put the hotel up for sale (to sell the lease).

Absolutely fair comment. If the committee truly intended to pass legislation addressing the business dealings if families of presidents and Vice Presidents or even the office holders, the investigation wound not be limited to “the Biden Family.@ they already know Hie was uninvolved in these deals, which is why it is innuendo and BS. Chum for the dumb.

See post 958. Explain why the committee isn’t investigating what was so out in the open. Facts matter.

As I told @AzCatFan , it's an investigation. I don't see what the issue is. If Biden did nothing wrong, then the investigation will go no where, right? In fact, one could predict the investigation not only goes no where, but the GOP gets some blowback for wasting time on said failed investigation. That's a good thing for your side, right? I'm having a difficult time understanding what you guys are so up in arms about here.

GOP gets blowback not for investigating, but like some clueless poster, broadcasting broadly Joe's corruption based on innuendo and conjecture instead of hard evidence. It supports the idea of these investigations into the Bidens are payback for impeachments and indictments of the failed past President that actually were supported by hard evidence.

I'm not up in arms. I actually think it's funny when Groomer Jordan and his buddies goes on TV and tell us things like the whistleblower hasn't been heard from in years.

There is actually quite a bit of evidence. Whether it leads to an indictment or impeachment is a whole different ballgame. But they're not investigating because of innuendo and conjecture. These were shell corporations, large payments received from international players for no discernible product or service in exchange. For anybody not named Biden, that's evidence that would be looked at in a money laundering investigation. Whether it's nefarious, illegal or worthy of prosecution is another matter. But to categorize it as "innuendo and conjecture" is laughable. If you had several shell corporations setup receiving money from overseas without any legitimate product or service in exchange, you would be looked at for money laundering, if the feds became aware of such activity. It may turn out that you had a perfectly legitimate reason for money flowing to your shell corporations from overseas. That on one occasion, the exact dollar amount for the purchase of a luxury sports car the next day had a real product or service attached to it. Or it could be that you're laundering in money from overseas for nefarious purposes. The investigation would get to the bottom of such a scenario.

Poster is now claiming that the article posted previously explaining that shell companies are a vehicle to manage taxes from income for books, speeches and appearances must be false? How convenient. Anything else have to be ignored to make innuendo and conjecture appear quasi valid? SMH

Trump's corruption is so shameless, as with his criminal behavior, that these Republicans have literally turned into part of the mob.

Silly to think Republicans are interested in investigating corruption.

    ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

The NY Times had an article out today, behind its paywall, explaining the two realities of Americans very well. The Rs see all the conjecture an innuendo against Joe, and know for sure, he's guilty. The Ds see this as Hunter being a problem child, and his tax/gun form criminal errors are a part of him being addicted to illicit drugs.

And yes, Hunter did peddle his last name to earn money. Not the first, and won't be the last. But as the Times' article states, there is still zero connection Joe knew what was going on, profited one penny from Hunter, or even thought about changing US foreign policy.

The article goes on to state maybe we should change the laws so that family members of prominent politicians can't pander their famous connections? But I ask, how. The family member isn't the one elected, didn't ask for a famous last name, and the sins of one person in the family does not stain the entire family. We're not Klingons.

Merrick Garland just announced in a press conference that David Weiss, who is the prosecutor that has been investigating Hunter for the past 5 years, has been appointed as Special Counsel to oversee the Hunter investigation.

Not sure the implications of that but apparently Weiss asked to be named Special Counsel earlier this week and Garland agreed.

Looking into this a bit further I think there's something everyone will be happy about: Weiss will now have to submit a final report including any crimes that he investigated, but declined to prosecute, and why.

I think this is a good thing in that it will bring more transparency to the investigation.

Because it’s not a Biden cult, I’m going to guess that Democrats, while they probably think this is B.S. (this probably wouldn’t be happening if he wasn’t Hunter Biden) will not be threatening civil war or claiming he did absolutely nothing wrong. They will let the legal process sort out guilt or innocence.
