Same (pretty much) in FL. They are considered livestock of the landowner and they can treat them as such.

Same thing in PR, roaming packs of wild dogs.

Similar issue with the Lionfish, they literally take over reefs offshore. Decades ago when I was diving a lot I was shocked to see them in the winter (60 degree water) thriving of the wrecks and reefs. Considering they are from the indo pacific area they weren't supposed to live in colder waters, now they are seen as far north as NC.

    Life finds a way..

I think it’s when there is a much better chance the snakes can found during the season. Supposedly they can be hard to locate.

A guy pitched on Shark Tank a business to catch and make food out of lionfish. (They turned him down)

Never ate one but they supposedly taste very good.
Bahamas and Florida have big kill all you can tournaments.

Just don't get stabbed by them and if you do put the hottest water you can on the wound(it breaks down the toxin)

and now grouper, shark, and some larger snappers have been observed eating lionfish

this video and report from deepwater NC wrecks was disturbing to this fisherman/diver though.literal schools of lionfish unlike anything I have ever seen

Yep sharks will eat anything as will Jewfish and other grouper.

I've seen spots off Daytona just like that, and that was 10-15 years ago.
