Hubie Brown to call final NBA game Sunday at 91 years old

Love Hubie.
Very few sports announcers are as refined, informative and polite.

 

He better get those doggies lined up for the last hurrah and a kiss off the glass. Onions!

 

Onions! That's not Hubie. He never bothered with a catchphrases. Just talking out the game at a high level. It's nice when a commentator tries to educate instead of only entertain.

 

Also liked him as a coach.

I believe JWill was fond of him in Memphis.

 

I agree, think he's the best to do it. So insightful. I met him before a Suns game about 10 years ago and told him he was the classiest man in basketball. I can't believe how sharp he still is, still so prepared and still so positive.

 

You're right. I like him, also.

 

There’s something great about havinf the old guys stick around for so long. They have such great perspectives, and often great voices and personalities. Bill Raftery is one of them, Dick Vitale is another. Gives a real sense of tradition to the sport.

 

This is one guy that literally has forgotten more about the game than I ever knew.
