And how do you propose to kill every Hamas fighter?

Or just don't expect Israel to stop until at least all hostages are released. Simple as that.

How many civilians died in the 8 year war between Iran and Iraq? How many died in desert storm? How many died in the Iraq War? How many died in the war against the Taliban and ISIS? How many have died in the ongoing Syrian conflict?

How many civilians been killed and displaced by the ongoing wars in central and Northern Africa?

Seems there is one common element to all of these civilian tragedies.

I'm not sure why anyone would take anything either Israel or Hamas says at face value. Both sides are fighting a perception war as well as a ground war

Not my circus, not my monkey. This is a good question for Israel whose civilians were raped, beaten and slaughtered on a whim.
If you ask yourself: "If a group of people invaded my home, raped and butchered my wife and daughters, castrated my son and made him watch while his mother and sisters were murdered - how would I propose to deal with those people?" you might have a sensible answer to your question.

Everyone can understand the visceral emotional response to 10/7, but decisions from such an emotional platform don't tend to produce sound, logical, nor attainable goals and outcomes.

The poster said the only solution is to kill every hamas fighter. I simply asked how that would be achieved. Can you answer that?

One's response should be : "I would kill approximately 30 times as many people as I had family members killed, including a huge number (if not majority) of them being women and children who had absolutely NOTHING to do with the crimes against my family." ???

What should the Palestinians who have nothing to do with Hamas who's families have been displaced, dispossessed, killed, raped and beaten by the IDF (before and after 10/7) do? I dont understand why violence and forced removal is only a legitimate response from one side.

Again, how about before even thinking of a ceasefire we first require Hamas to release all hostages. Weird how some don't ever say that. Wonder why...

Because Benny has already called hostages for a cease fire delusional and called for complete victory instead - whatever that means to him.

Why can no one answer my question: how do you kill all Hamas fighters?

Slowly and methodically until they are all dead. IF Hamas released all the hostages I predict the global pressure would be too much for Israel to ignore and would have to agree to a ceasefire. Plus, Hamas has said they won't do it either. BUT I haven't seen you calling for the release of the hostages anywhere. Why is that?

FYI: I do not accept the premise of your question. "Palestinians" are in a tough place - no one seems to want them, not Arabs, nor Persians, nor Jews.

Life isn't fair. Israel was attacked; and, they have every right to make sure they are not attacked again.
Hamas has created a scenario where their destruction includes and involves innocents; but, of course, Israel is to blame.

Why are the ‘Palestinians’ continually denied entry by Jordan Egypt and Saudi ? Sadly they don’t have many options and seemingly no friends in the Arab community. Their leaders clearly don’t care and it’s not on the Israelis to look out for them while Hamas digs tunnels under apartments, schools and hospitals.

I can accept that there is no negotiating or middle ground with people that do this.

I can’t speak to the website’s credibility but FWIW the author of the article is a professor of statistics and data science at the Wharton School. Doesn’t mean he’s not biased, I’m sure he has some being Jewish, but he’s most certainly not a hack.

I don’t think the author’s point was that civilians were not being killed, but that Hamas is overstating it to influence groups against Israel.

I think we actually agree for once.

So this would mean in a way that does not result in 30,000 civilians killed (and growing), including thousands of women and children?

I think that’s an overstated. A better question is how do they kill as many Hamas members as possible, to minimize the threat they pose to Israel?

In a place where civilian infrastructure and Hamas infrastructure is intertwined, I am not sure it is easy to determine what is a reasonable trade off. To the extent Israel is more reserved in their response, they incrementally allow a marginally greater threat, and to the extent their forces are more surgical and careful, Israeli soldiers take on additional risks.

None of those tactics will solve the situation. There is no solution through violence other than "total victory" which is a scenario that can not be allowed to play out.
