Like their conversations, Mr. Vance could be surprising.

In October 2014, in the wake of the killing of Michael Brown, an 18-year-old Black man, by a white police officer in Ferguson, Nelson raised the idea of requiring that police officers wear body cameras.

I hate the police,” Mr. Vance said in his response. “Given the number of negative experiences I’ve had in the past few years, I can’t imagine what a Black guy goes through.”

I’m starting to wonder if Vance is an antifa plant.

If Trump dumps Vance it will 100% be because Vance is stealing headlines and attention from Trump because of his crazy rhetoric, and we know that can't make Trump pleased.

These emails are a treasure trove. Guy sounds an awful lot like a liberal. The deplorables will love it.

trump having Vance as a running mate with a history of saying very disparaging things against trump is somewhat like marrying a woman who had an active (ahem) social life. trump probably doesn’t enjoy being constantly reminded of his mate’s body count.

AP Fact check: JD Vance did NOT provide background vocals in Ice T’s controversial song “cop killer” in the 90’s.

Trump picked a woke, anti-cop, BLM supporter as his VP. I bet Vance kneeled for the anthem too. Yikes! The Trumpers are gonna have a conniption when they find out.

In all of this adverse coverage of JD Vance over the past several days, does anybody have a clue where Trump stands on the weird positions Vance has taken? Has anybody actually heard anything at all from Trump on what are currently the most widely debated policy positions attributable to the GOP? Maybe a younger and more cognitively fit GOP candidate would have had something to say by now. I’m not sure - I got out of the politics game a while ago. But I can’t imagine Trump is happy being completely sidelined by his running mate’s extreme views. And it seems like he’s having a hard time breaking through.

I think the key problem Vance is getting the attention. Whether it is is positive or negative is secondary.

Agreed that it is secondary in Trump’s mind. However, it’s very important in terms of the general election (which is for sure not the ostensible topic of this particular thread). Part of the reason the noise is so deafening and Trump is so silent is how extreme and unAmerican Vance’s views are - Trump is not only muted, but is muted by noise that is hurting his electoral chances. Vance is a double whammy.

If he’s smart he’d drop Vance and pick Haley.

I am not exactly sure what JD Vance said and what he meant by it yet since I have not heard of this. I’ll have to watch his internet with Megyn Kelly

What I find interesting is the calls for Trump to pick a new VP over cat lady comment yet the unelected democrat nominee for president prosecuted people for petty weed charges and purposely hid evidence to keep men in prison that would have exonerated them. I don’t hear any calls for her to step down.

I was about to post that. There is a good article on the front of the WSJ this morning saying how women (particularly under 30) hate this tandem.

But Trump wasn’t looking for the best or the brightest candidate. He was looking for the running mate that made him feel like the best and the brightest by saying how great Trump is.

I guess you have to caveat that with currently saying how great DJT is.

So you think it matters who is "in his ear"? He doesn't take advice from anyone since he is an egomaniac. I thinks it's more about increasing his chances of winning the election.

    I think Trump
Trump never apologizes because his Narcissistic Personality Disorder is so extreme that he is incapable of admitting that he is ever wrong or that he ever loses and his followers like members of a cult consider him infallible.

Never underestimate Trump's ability to F something up. Picking this clown has been a complete disaster. Will be interesting to see who Harris picks, because she needs someone in the middle as trump will point to her being the most liberal member of congress.
