From what I have heard.. Thomas wants ALOT of money QB1 money. Not saying we don’t get him but I do think that money could be spent elsewhere or spread out over two/three recruits.

At some point we will need to start landing this type of talent in order to compete with UGA, OSU, and Bama.

I don't think we are out of it for French. Of course I'm not sure. Lets be real, any of these guys are gonna require a rather large bag.
I do think one of the 5 star recievers will be drawn to play with DJL but UF will have to have a competitive "bag", even with the DJL attraction.

While I agree, I think he’d rather stay in FL vs Oregon.

SEC FOOTBALL is all about OLINE/DLINE studs. If you have top tier OL/DL talent, you are most always competitive in games against the Georgia’s and Bamas of the world. This is where you need to throw big money around in the portal.

Hes an advantage id like DJ to have but its not my money. Top notch protection for qbs is expensive. How do top left tackles get paid in comparison to other positions in the nfl, theyre valuble.

This is THE question. Do you pay for a likely 3 year kid who will be a true freshman for 1 year (dubious return)? Do you look for a less expensive portal talent who is better than that freshman and a development hs guy behind him who is great in year 4? Really a general manager job to allocate $ for best net return (think moneyball).

If that's the case I suspect lsu has deeper pockets and will do just about anything to buy a championship.

Link may suggest otherwise and we now have a 26 million dollar buy out, plus the originally allocated NIL money, to spend on recruits.

We also just took all his friends/future teammates from FSU and I’d also say Kelly, is more inclined to lose his job next year, vs CBN.
