I don’t know you, so I certainly can’t say that you’re a pathetic excuse for a human being, but your post is pathetic. People in this country have spent 400 years or so digging a hole to throw in the African slaves and their descendants, and, now, when these folks need help in getting out of the hole, people like you say that the country should be color blind. It can’t work that way. When it can work is when all families have access to quality health care, quality pre-school, quality food and housing, quality child care, quality K-12, a reformed criminal justice system, etc. As for those Nigerian-Americans, who, by the way, are African-Americans, they are a perfect example of how the descendants of slaves can do if they are given the opportunity to succeed that were given to Nigerians who voluntarily emigrated to America.

I have noticed the incoming class at Harvard is 28% Asian, Stanford 29% Asian, and Princeton 25% Asian. In all cases, the ratio of Asians in the 2026 class is higher than at the university as a whole, while whites are below a third of the incoming class each case. I wonder if this is a way of preempting lawsuits after the SCOTUS ruling.

 

I think the problem with this is that affirmative action isn't directed toward admitting disadvanted African Americans. It actually consists in universities gobbling up the most privileged, and best qualified, African Americans they can find. I don't know about medical school, but the AA admits to Havard are affluent, which is why the practice is defended on the basis of diversity rather than on renumerative social policy. Many aren't even the descendants of slaves, which makes affirmative action really representation by proxy. And this might defensible, as is. But I always find this assumption that the typical AA admit couldn't score as high on test because they were working 3 jobs to support their single mother, pretty weak.

 

You can push back all you want. But the conclusion will be unavoidable and will be mainstream if current trends continue. American jews have been attending elite colleges at up to 10x for a 100 years, and the statistics aren't currently available. Asians for example are 6% of the population, but 29% of Harvard's incoming class, and outnumber whites at MIT and Cal Berkely undergrad. Some might be international, but still. Unlike jews, Asians don't assimilate into white so their presence is conspicuous. India now has the most people in the world, and many want to get out. The phenomena will eventually he studied.

 

The practice is defended on the basis of diversity because of the Supreme Court. It allowed affirmative action when it seeks to achieve diversity. It has not allowed it as a remedial measure.

Here's how I think most people want to think about doctors: IF a family member is having a life threatening surgery everyone will want the best doctor possible, not the best Asian, best white or best black doctor. Doctors should be treated like athletes. 100% merit. I don't see anyone wanting Asians in the NBA so we are equitable. Doctors do such important work it doesn't make sense to not take the best of the best. Should every effort be made to get minorities involved? Sure, but that should stop at lowering the bar/standards.

 

I think genes are one factor that affect how certain ethnic groups perform. I don't know what "inherently more intelligent" means.

I am not anti-black. I have a deep respect for the cultures of Africa. However, I do acknowledge that the African American culture is beyond broken and embarrassment. Most black people from other countries agree with me on this. There is a huge difference between African Americans vs other black groups.

I like how you didn't even touch my point about other black cultures like Nigerian Americans running circles around African Americans in every statistic possible and they come from another continent and english is not even their own language. Only through fixing their broken culture can African Americans change things for the better. They have no one to blame but themselves For starters try having 2 parents in the household. That makes a huge difference.

It's not just former Bernie folks. Many conservatives are former Clinton and Obama supporters also. A lot are former Obama supporters.

 

Good point. Where is the affirmative action in the NBA, NFL, and Olympics? Why is it okay for it to be majority black in those leagues? I think we need to have affirmative action. At least 1 starting cornerback for each college and NFL team should be Asian and similar policies at all positions. Once every 4 years the starting QB must be Asian also.

Then why is it that black Nigerians and most other black groups come to the US from far off foreign lands and run circles around African Americans?

Why is it that when the US was actually racist African Americans had far lower crime rates, far better statistics and a much higher percentage of 2 parent households? Now America has equal rights for all (well blacks have more rights thanks to Affirmative action) yet blacks are many times worse in each category than they were back in the 60s and before? Do you really think blacks have less rights now than they did in the 60s? Their culture has been degraded and destroyed.

Most black households have 1 parent. Anyone from a single family household, regardless of race, will suffer much worse statistics. The African American problems are self inflincted: single parent households, extremely high crime rates (they are 13% of the country yet they commit around half of the country's murders each year), very low HS graduation rates etc.
Nigerian-Americans succeed because they excel in all of the above areas in which African Americans badly fail in.

You think African Americans are the only people that have been enslaved before? Study world history. Most groups have been enslaved before (or even worse been through genocides), yet they have quickly recovered. The problems stem from a broken culture. There needs to be a movement to keep black dads in the family. Broken family=broken culture

There are IQ differences between races, yes. That is a biological fact. Asians and whites have the highest average IQs by a good margin, which explains why they excel in academics more than the others.

Just like there are also physical differences like average height, strength, and athleticism. When was the last time you saw a football player from China or India? Which race usually dominates track and field? What about basketball?

Where are the white cornerbacks? Where are the Asians and latinos in the world's strongest men competition?
