How a 2024 announcement would immediately impact Trump and whether it would clear the GOP field (msn.com)

A source close to the former president tells Fox News that Trump is "going to announce on Tuesday" regardless of advice from some people in the former president’s orbit. "I am very certain that is what he’s going to do."

And Trump pushed back against criticism from plenty of Republicans who argue that the former president’s backing of far right MAGA loyalists in GOP primaries hurt the party in Tuesday’s general election, downsizing a potential red wave into a more of a trickle. Trump told Fox News Digital in an interview Wednesday that his plans to make a "major" announcement on Tuesday have not changed.

"We had tremendous success," Trump told Fox News Digital’s Brooke Singman, adding, "Why would anything change?" in reference to his upcoming announcement.

Sources in Trump’s political orbit tell Fox News that top aides at Mar-a-Lago are urging Trump to move forward with that announcement. Among the benefits they see in an early 2024 announcement would be the potential to clear the field of some likely rivals for the nomination.

I've changed my mind; I hope does announce on Tuesday. He had great success with his endorsements in the midterms.
The media tries to make you believe that Trumps endorsements did bad, President Trump endorsed 183 candidates. Of those, 174 won. If, in order to get credit, Trump’s candidates had to perform better than THAT, I’d like to know who’s beaten that record.
I got this from a local blog from an attorney, that's impressive.

This way we can hopefully get rid of the Rinos that are left. And we can let Trump finish job and clean up the mess from the liberals.

There will be no one happier than democrats if Trump runs. The Democratic candidate literally won’t matter. We elected Biden last time. Next candidate will be better. Heck Fetterman beat Trump.

How can a man who illegally stockpiled classified documents in his basement run for president?

Trump needs a way better name than that. I mean that’s not even trying.

If Trump finishes any job, it would be the total destruction of the Republican Party. He lost to a verbally inept Democratic candidate by almost 8 million votes in 2020 and under his leadership the Republican party had its worst performance in a midterm in 20 years in what should have been a wave election for the party. Virtually every one of Trump's personally selected candidates in swing states lost their elections. Thanks to Trump, the Dems were able to flip PA and retain their Senate seats in AZ, NV, NH and probably GA. Trump's endorsed candidate for the governorship of MI lost by a 10 percent margin and for the first time in almost 40 years the Democrats control the governorship and both Houses of the state legislature in that state. Ron DeSantis probably the most successful Republican politician has recently been the target of vicious attacks from Trump and although it won't make any difference in the end, Trump will most likely continue attacking DeSantis since the egotistical a-hole cannot stand to share the spotlight with anyone else.

Trump could be heading for another first. He was the first president elected to the presidency who never held elective office or who was never a senior military officer prior to his run for the presidency. He could become the first person nominated by a major political party to run for the presidency while under indictment or actually convicted of a crime. He could also be the first nominee of a major political party to lose the popular vote in three presidential elections.

Serious answer to a serious question: convict him of it, and he cannot.

Where have you been? List just one of his little nicknames that’s even a touch clever, that does not sound it came from someone in junior high.

As bizarre as it sounds, there is no constitutional provision prohibiting a convicted felon from running for the presidency. Even if convicted Trump could still run and MAGA nation would vote for him. In fact he would probably use the conviction as a positive claiming that he is the victim of the "Deep State" and his supporters would completely buy into the narrative.

Thanks, I didn't realize that. So, being a convicted felon means you can't vote, but you can be elected. Yeah, that makes sense.

I’m not saying he’s clever. It lacks the mean spirited easy to get low brow level of bad humor. It’s 6 syllables and an SAT word. I would have thought Destupiest would have been up there. Not that he’s stupid but that doesn’t matter.
