I think it is the source Bill is linking that is causing it. You typically have to click @g8orbill link and then find the actual article that the JusttheNews is quoting from to find out what the actual issue. It would be helpful if Bill would post the link to the actual article JusttheNews is quoting instead of the JusttheNews article.

What are you talking about? You clearly think that allowing men to play with women is about protecting the 1%. I am curious who is the "they" (quoting a pronoun for @lacuna to help show who is actually caring about the culture War) is that you are referring to.

I started cycling in May 2019 to rehab a pickleball injury … torn right calf from a move to return a shot. I’ve put just over 31,400 miles on two road bikes and a stationary bike and enjoy cycling much more than pickleball - no BS over in/out and “kitchen” calls ….. or the score. There’s no arguing in cycling, just a little cursing at lousy drivers!!

It’s funny to expect seniors to keep track of the score and who served from which side of the court.

Can you tell us of an actual interaction you have ever had with a trans (not seeing someone, but an interaction)? My guess is likely none, like the vast majority on this Board.

We are 4 pages in on a subject of obscurity, a subject where nobody has any substantive First-hand knowledge.

I personally don’t think surgically altered men should be allowed to play in women’s sports. But I’ve never come across it, first-hand. For my money, I’d prefer the people we pay to govern to focus on real issues that truly impact us—things like cost of living, safety, education.

I play some tennis and there are a lot of people I know that love it. Being a runner...too little running for me lol.

That said the Tennis Professional at the tennis center I play at some and friend has played in Multiple Pickleball US Opens. If the NCAA ever picks it up as a sport I suspect he will be in the running to be the Coach at Florida assuming we put a team together. Which I think would certainly happen.

You said commenting on the top 1% having 30% of the wealth accumulated was "wealth envy."

If that is your stance we can't have an honest discussion on culture wars vs class wars.

So are you really going to run and hide because my opinion is that your statement had all the signs of wealth envy?

This is so weak. Who is trying to protect the "1%" with this barrage of culture Wars in your opinion?

No. but it's not worth having a discussion if you think my opinion is somehow based on wealth envy. Clearly your opinion is based on envy of letting men play girls sports.

I've been on this board long enough to know when my time is going to be wasted

I think its notable that the handful of athletes the right-wingers recruited in this battle were losers or mediocrities who they convinced that their losing or lack of championship talent was because the game was "rigged" with "men" in sports.

They will complain about inflation and the price of eggs and then will do nothing but give Musk and Bezos another tax cut. People are happy to respond and be distracted by dog whistles like DEI, woke and trans

FYI. I am in favor of this bill. Seems like common sense that bio boys should not compete against girls. Also, I lost a game of PB to a duo that included an 81 yo woman.

It is trendy like racquetball was in the 80's.

If there are only 10 NCAA trans athletes that are affected, then why not just tell those 10 that they won't be competing in women's sports. Done - no further "outrage" or whatever. But, the left is pushing for those 10 to dictate overall policy of those massive organizations. The left is not genuinely "surprised" by the response. It relishes/invites the conversation/debate so that they may then get on their supposed high horse to point fingers at the "transphobes," while at the same time whining that it is no big deal and that the conversation/debate that they started is not worthy of the time, money, effort, etc. Welcome to the fourth grade mentality.

I am good with this conceptually given the importance of ensuring fairness to girls and women and when Federal funding is involved. The language I've seen is that "sex shall be recognized based solely on a person’s reproductive biology and genetics at birth." I don't know if this standard is defined elsewhere in Federal law, but it's not clear to me if it's contemplating reliance on birth certificates/visible external genitalia, Karyotype Testing, hormone testing, and/or some combination of those things?

Such a weak response. I don't even care if you think it is wealth envy or not.

I will just take it that you were trying to distract from the topic and think that males should be able to compete with females. Instead of discussing the topic you decided to distract from it. To quote you...

You "know what they're (you're) doing."

You could not discuss the topic. So you complain about the 1%. What do you think that looks like?
